Thought i'd see what the good (and bad hehe ) people of the good shop SS PistonHeads drive, as a daily and weekend / fun car (unless combined), and your age.

I'll obviously go first.

I'm 37 (nearly 38) and I drive a 2003 Honda Accord 2.0 I-VTEC Executive, and when the replacement engine arrives (thanks to the last guy who worked on it purposely vandalising the engine to cover his fk up, leaving it as scrap - hammer to the oil pump anyone?) A 2006 E60 M5.

Out there to you PH.

Wasnt AReeve by any chance?
No, it was BM Remapping in Kent. I'm going legal. Also learnt that copper grease had been put in the oil filter housing to make it look like the engine had suffered rod bearing failure. The same bearings that he replaced some 1800 miles previous. Mr Vanos is doing me a new engine at considerable cost.

Some very nice metal you guys own. I've been toying with the idea of a daily / winter hack for next winter (the Honda will be sold in April when my M5 is back on the road) but I don't really have the space at home, not aware of any car share type units around near me and not sure I can fully justify it when I don't need a car for work very often and I usually walk in.

993 tt x50

Two young children so not much time to scratch my ass let alone drive the cars much!

That 993 and e12 look amazing. The m3s aren't bad either. I don't even have the time or need to drive one car most of the time!

Some great cars here - I’m certainly low balling he car budgets and type of cars I’ve gone for over the years.

Need to rectify that soon.

Thank you, sorry to hear about your M5 troubles. I ran an E39 a few years back and very nearly replaced it with a V10 so have been following your thread with interest! Hope it's sorted soon.
Thank you. It was all going well until I chose the wrong guy to do the work. He's been a naughty man and I'm not the only person he has screwed over. It'll be back on the road in April then I need to decide if I should keep it (I'll have around £25k in by that time) or sell it and move on.

If you need someone to drive the E12 then I'd begrudgingly offer my services. hehe

I dock my hat to you sir. A true petrolhead!
Thanks very much
You have a garage that I am most envious of. The Lotus Carlton is an epic machine. Good ones are so far out of my price range now that it is a car I will never get to own or experience.

I had always liked the LC and always wondered what theyd be like, so three years ago decided to investigate and got bitten/smiten by the bug and went and bought one. Fully refurbed body and underneath too, its a beauty. Another shot of them both (LC and RS2) on Weston super Mare sea front, luckily my eldest son is insured on both too so we get to take them both out for a blast, then swap on the journey home.

Very nice. I'd love to try one to see if they met my expectations. What would a good one cost these days? £50k. Also not really a car you can leave on your front driveway over night I suspect!

Gutting, I can understand you being quite upset at that!!

As for the E12, you'd be more than welcome but there is more chance of yours being ready before mine.

About 18 months ago I embarked on a 'light undercarriage refresh' after an advisory on a ropey looking fuel pipe and things have got a little out of hand....it should be pretty cool when I've finished though and be good for another 40 years!

It is what it is. Almost broke me financially.

Lol, that's a lot of work going in on the car. That's some dedication. It'll be an amazing car when completed.

38. Huge petrolhead and have been since childhood!

Concourse E46 M3. 37k miles and like new. Went a bit wild with this one - CSL airbox, Schrick cams, BMW motorsport diff, Suspersprint exhaust etc. Lovely cars. Just taken a deposit on this and looking to replace with a classic of some sort.

430 Spider. Done loads to this and so far saved 120kg. Power is up to comfortably over 500.

CLK63. Joint car with OH. So, so nice. Prefer it to any of the new models. Managed to find a nice one with 37k miles.

Fiesta Mk3. Ongoing project - 500+ bhp, IRS, etc. etc.

I've been reading your M3 thread over the last few days and it is inspiring me to keep my M5 when I get it back and do various work on it to make it better. Your outgoing M3 is a work of art and I am only up to page 18!

I also need to have your job. I'd love a prancing horse in my stable. A 308 would do nicely. Doesn't need to be fast, it would just be a cool thing to drive.

Why put £20,000 into a weekend toy now when it could all go to st in 2 months time and I'd need to sell it
It's very unlikely though, isn't it?

Still some epic cars in this thread continuing to be posted. And no sniping, no mocking or being unkind about anyone else's car. Thanks!

I realised I never posted pics of my own cars.

Here's my current do it call Honda Accord, still on less than 40k miles, and all things being equal will not exceed that by the time I sell it.

And my 79k M5 that hasn't turned a wheel in anger since September. I cannot wait to get this back on the road.

Anyone still got the same car?

I still have the M5, the Accord went in 2019 just before my M5 returned home. I've also had an Octavia vRS in that time as well.

Some very nice machines being posted. The 911's are REALLY growing on me. If I could afford a turbo (996 or 997) I think I'd be all over one.

We are now over half way through 2022, has there been any changes?

I still own the M5 and I bought back my old Octavia vRS.
