I don’t know the answer but it’s an interesting one. I quite like the W124 E500 and the E60 M5....

Hmmm - rapide and quattroporte not displaying any slightly elongated proportion issues for you?

For me, the Aston looks like a db9 apologising for needing 4 doors and the maser, again, stretching the 3200 style a bit - although a bit more successfully. Not saying they aren’t lovely but there can be some awkward angles for me.

Some great choices there - that 190 evo and the classic Citroen, jaguar and Mercedes also lovely.

I’m not sure the 4 door cars were ever “pin up” were they? More “handsome” or “well proportioned”

Surely this thread is pointless, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, no?
Not pointless at all.

I started by thinking inside my own box yesterday evening and thanks to the contributions of the other members I think we’ve been on a really interesting journey, appreciating different design styles and ideas.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing some of the wonderful images.

When I posted my contributions at the start of this - the e60 m5 and w124 e500 I had somehow forgotten the classics.

Then someone posted the DS - it’s appeared a few times on the thread - and here it is again.

What a spectacular car - so different and creative - oh Citroen what have you become?

People posting BMWs, Audi’s and Mercs - sort yourselves out.

Anyway, surprised no one has posted this,

Or maybe they have and I haven’t noticed? Anyway, always lusted after one.

Good shouts on the Alfa’s and Jags. Excellent design aplenty.
Gets a thumbs up from me too. Beautiful looking thing. Great call.
Yep fantastic - the last fab Citroen?

Here's a couple of more standard examples snapped on the St Gottard pass a few years ago:

Very nice in standard trim aswellindeed! Also the idea of a grand tour through the Alps in one... cloud9
Agreed - they look fab! - Objection overruled judge
