Not sure if this had ever been discussed on here before (and I'll be amazed if it hasn't) but I was in the NCP carpark at Covent Garden yesterday and spotted two cars that look like they've been abandoned in there for quite some time. Firstly there's an E34 530i F247 TLX that's covered in dust but even more strangely there's an old Rolls Royce TGC 536L that's caked in dust and had a tax disc showing expiry in November 2011.

I would've thought that if no payment was being made to keep them there, NCP would have had them recovered. Then again I guess the owners could always show up and pay the astronomical bill...

Anyone able to shed any light on the mystery of these relics?

Thanks for the replies. Although I guess most of us would find it utterly ridiculous to just leave a car gathering dust like that, the owners of these vehicles may have plenty of others to use as and when they like. The spaces coming with use of a flat or office kind of makes sense, certainly in the case of the BMW which was in a "premium" space.

This. yes
Gotta confess I was throwing out some faint hope of finding out that the BMW was unwanted and could be snapped up for a song!
