Reason I'm asking this is because I recently saw a guy getting picked up after work by his wife/girlfriend and she got out so he could drive. Now this just seemed bizarre to me and got me thinking are there a lot of blokes out there who just have to drive? I, for one, enjoy being a passenger on the weekend as I do more than enough miles commuting during the week.

Are some men really that bothered about being driven around by a woman? Maybe your partner dislikes driving and would prefer you to do the driving? (This is sometimes the case if we visit large unfamiliar cities)

You have made a rather sweeping statement from observing one man take over driving from a woman, don't you think?

Maybe she had driven for a fair distance to get him, maybe she didn't fancy driving, maybe its for some other reason - like you preferring to be driven around on the weekend t because you are lazy, because you drink to much on weekends to be able drive or because she doesn't like your aggressive driving so would prefer to drive herself, get the picture?
Observing the woman change seats for the man only compounded my suspicions as (and before you ask I have no documented evidence of this) IMO, if you look out for families driving about and getting in and out of cars at carparks etc, majority of the time the man will be behind the wheel.

Completely agree with you there could be a whole host of reasons why they swapped in that particular situation, one of which could be the bloke is a sexist.
