Hi all
Had my eye off the market for a while but seems I've missed the up! GTi been taken off sale ? Or atleast I can't see it on Volkswagen website and I've missed it.
Can't find any articles about it either
Anyone know what's going on please ? Temporary position due to under supply maybe ?
Quite fancy a little 5 door one.

Thanks all, sounds like I'm not the only one who thought they would still be available or who's gutted that they aren't 😭

News is that the Up! GTI is back in production and available in the UK in first quarter of 2020, from a reliable source at VW
Please let this be true.... If things work out as I hope I'll be looking for a lease in Jan, currently thinking polo GTi or cooper s, but if the up comes back if take one of those. The original PCP deals were pretty good, hope those come back too.

If was me who originally posted this thread, changed username since though

So far 2 people saying it's coming back, really, really hoping it's true. Did a bit of googling and can't find anything to confirm as yet so hoping we've got some insider knowledge

I decided to contact my local VW dealership and ask... No response.
Tried another at other end of the country, asked the question and they replied telling me about some amazing deals on the outgoing golf, totally ignoring my actual query.

So far VW dealers seem less useful that the jeep dealership... Which is hard cos they were not good

No joy from VW customer services, infact they also seem to just want to sell me a golf

"Thank you for your correspondence regarding the Golf GTI.

I am delighted to hear of your interest. The Golf GTI is a fabulous choice, we love to hear your feedback. Regarding the Mark 8, we currently do not have any information on the trims that will be available in the UK market. We are very excited for the revival of such an iconic vehicle in the Volkswagen range. You can sign up your details to our Keep Me Informed page on the website where you will be updated as soon as the Brand releases any further details. This can be accessed on the following link:"

My email had the title up! GTi in 2020 and made it clear I was asking about the up.

Hopefully it comes back and I can buy one, though it might have to spend some time explaining that I really don't want a golf lol

Okay, so VW customer services first response was poor, but when I replied pointing out that I was asking about the up not the golf, they responded in less than 30 mins and the news is good.

THEY HAVE CONFIRMED ITS BACK IN Q1 2020 !!!!

I've been added to the waiting list, not surprised that there is a waiting list. Just on this thread alone seems many of us were gutted to miss it first time.

I'll be going for a white or grey 5dr with the Pano roof

"Thank you for your response. I appreciate it.

I do apologise for the confusion. The Up GTI has been confirmed by the Brand to be available in the first quarter of 2020. Due to the high demand customers have for the Up GTI we do have a listing available on our end. If you provide me with your postcode and best daytime contact number I am more than happy to get you on the list where we will keep you updated closer to the date.

I hope this information proves useful and I am very sorry once again for the confusion.

Thank you for contacting Volkswagen UK."

Yeah, it's a list to get a call from the local dealer as soon as they hear anything. I assume it's a "hot sales lead" list
Tbf I ain't missing out this time, if they call I'll order there and then over the phone

I'm sure your local dealer would take a deposit off you for one.

In theory you'd then be a the front of the queue.
Ah, never thought of that. Will email them now so I don't forget

Good news that dealers are taking deposits. Re. options, my car has everything bar the parking pack (you really shouldn't need it!). Opinions seem mixed on the Beats audio upgrade, but it has impressed with the sort of music I listen to. The panoramic roof is pricey but it lightens up the interior nicely. I opted for climate control purely because I think it makes the dash look nicer, and the City Pack because it included auto lights and wipers. It's unclear what they'll do about this option because the autonomous braking feature that also came with it has been discontinued on the Up.

As for colour, was always going to be red for me, although at one point I did waver and nearly went for Pure White.

Yours looks awesome btw

Beats Sound Pack – £370
