Interesting celebrity cars
Discussion
Lots of celebrities own expensive cars, which comes as no surprise. But some own something interesting or distinctive, and in doing so, say something about themselves. e.g As per the Jacob Rees Mogg thread, the Tory anachronism drives a vintage Bentley, which is perhaps unsurprising, but makes him a slightly less awful person I think.
What other examples of interesting Celebrity cars have PHers come across?

I'm surprised Mogg doesn't drive a Morris Minor.
I always admire footballers who own common or garden motors. Bernardo Silva apparently drives a Smart car, whereas David de Gea drives a Mercedes Vito. I couldn't find a source but I'm sure I read somewhere that Duncan 'fix bayonets!' Ferguson used to drive a Fiesta van whereas Andy Cole had a old Mini.
Roger Moore used to drive a Renault 5.

Old, but not vintage. Did he claim that it was?e.g As per the Jacob Rees Mogg thread, the Tory anachronism drives a vintage Bentley, which is perhaps unsurprising, but makes him a slightly less awful person I think.
Rees Mogg himself, of course, can be classified as ‘veteran’ since he dates from the Victorian era and is therefore comfortably pre-1905.

Different tack this. In an idle moment, thought I’d see which celebs had bought a California. Not so interesting as an individual choice, but quite a range of celebs who all chose one...

I remember reading an article in the early nineties about Bryan Adams and his custom Special Vehicles Land Rover called VOD100, which was short for Vehicle Of Doom, 100" wheelbase. It was a "greatest hits" (no pun intended) of Defender, Discovery and Range Rover parts.
There was also a mahoosive stereo, that was apparently at the insistence of his friend at Land Rover as he wasn't that fussed.
VOD100 was built for Brian by Paul Clark at Dunsfold in late 1992 and early 1993. i built the engine for it, which was a mildly tweaked 2.5 TDIThere was also a mahoosive stereo, that was apparently at the insistence of his friend at Land Rover as he wasn't that fussed.
Feels like a life time ago now!

Yes, of course you're right. The Astra is an '81 - not the photo. He also had a Ford Fiasco with hideous wheels....
...but seems to have redeemed his car credentials by having one of pretty much every iconic Ferrari made
That Fiesta is a disgrace, yes, but we’ve all done things we regretted. Really good to see he’s now reformed and has made strong reparations with his subsequent purchases. Given his improved character since, I hope the PH community will have it in their hearts to forgive him that one moment of madness a long time ago. ...but seems to have redeemed his car credentials by having one of pretty much every iconic Ferrari made

looking back to the OP....
Granted someone driving a classic Mini in 2019 is an interesting, enthusiast choice but driving one in the 60-70-80s is just having a cute/cool car. Like having a fiat 500 these days.
Similarly with the classic Jags, Jensens etc. In period do these actually say anything about the owner or were they just the classic equivalent of having a boggo Merc / BMW / Audi these days?
Good challenge! That said, with the “Poor Man’s Porsche” thread mainly discussing Cheese on Toast recipes, tbh I just feel lucky to have solicited some posts of celebrities and their cars (many of which have been interesting). 67Dino said:

Just idly wondering if a lot these old pics are appropriate? What other examples of interesting Celebrity cars have PHers come across?

Appreciate the nudge though, as the best ones are definitely those where you go “Really? I wouldn’t have guessed”. I’m still recovering from finding out that Michael McIntyre drives the same car I do...
