The Evoque got a lot of stick for being convertible but I wasn't sure if that was because it had a bit of a school run mum image and making it convertible made it even more so but now VW has a T-Roc convertible and I can't help thinking that its a niche that somehow manufacturers have missed. After all people love SUVs so a convertible one surely makes sense? And they aren't any more disagreeable than those stupid SUV coupes!?

Can't be bothered to wade through the arguing.

Anyone mentioned the PT Cruiser soft top yet ?

Saw one today actually,at least they had the hood down.
They are MPVs, not SUVs

Would be perfect for my old man now. He insists on a convertible but most of them are too low or hard riding for his aging bones. Sent him the article on the t roc the other day as an option.
Evoque cab just too expensive and no boot.
It doesn't look like the T-ROC has much boot either but will be much cheaper.

SUV convertibles aren't exactly a new thing are they? In the 90s, we had Vitaras, Jimnys, Fronteras, Daihatsu Sportraks, Freelander 1s, Wranglers etc. I had a Jimny softop as a company car briefly and it was horrific at 40mph+ but kind of fun just pottering around with the roof off!
But, IIRC, none were full convertibles like the Evoque or T-Roc, just SUVs with a bit of tent action going on round the back (hehe)
