I've noticed in a number of threads peeps expressing a desire to own a car with a V8... For some their first and for others a compunction to revisit....

So what is it about a V8 that makes large numbers of petrol heads lust after them? I can think of many reasons, but would be interested to hear the thoughts of others... I remember the first V8 I drove back in the '70s, an early Range Rover with the old 3.5 on twin (IIRC) Strombergs... It was a wonderous thing back then, and an event to drive...

There's just something about a V8.......

What's your excuse? smile

Can we have more sublime please? I'm not getting tired of reading that word yet.
Ok smile
My decatted Chimaera sounds awesome at 6k rpm, however, fire up the Vantage, and the sound is just mind numbingly sublime...

Had an MGB GT V8 for a couple of years (loved it), pretty sure the 3.5 Rover lump in that weighed a bit less than the boggo cast iron 1800 lumps in the non V8 cars scratchchin

Obviously not particularly relevant in the 'modern' world biggrin

I love my 850 T5 estate and its 5 pot turbo lump...... but...... the idea of a V8 Estate is very very attractive..... in a dirty kind of way biggrin

I had a Mercedes 230TE estate many years ago.... now that with a V8 in it would I think be very special biggrin
