Yep that's the badger - I'll update the original post thanks - interestingly that thread was 140 pages (on 80 posts per page settings) Presumably before going over 125 pages broke PH
Going over 10,000 posts was still the thread limit back then. I guess the mods didn’t notice the thread post count for a while.

This picture intrigues me not for the reason you'd think but knowing the width of the sills on this type of SL what do we think her chances of getting in are?
That is just the hotel porter bringing out the luggage.

My E class is back from the indie after an extended visit having a raft of new sensors fitted.
Pleased to report that the warning lights are remaining off and once again the car drives lovely. driving
Not so pleased to report that my wallet is a lot lighter. frown

Isn't that quite dear, assuming that the bumpers are to have been removed for the replacement of parking sensors? Which E Class do you have, anyhow? I thought that you were just here for the motorbikes and tits.
Not parking sensors.
It was NOx sensors and MAF sensors. All were out of stock in the UK and had to be ordered from Germany. NOx sensors took months to arrive, then I had another wait for MAF sensors (it has two of them and the whole air intake piece has to be replaced).
I have a 212 estate, bought for well over thread budget but I have owned it for nearly 5 years so it is now fast approaching the upper realms of the thread budget.
Positives: 6 cylinder engine, cream leather seats with massage, brown dashboard with walnut trim, Active LED headlights, no privacy glass.
Negatives: diesel.

Also - what is this in the boot and why take a picture of it when selling the thing?

It is a genuine MB Comfort Stowage Box, part number A2126800010

Yes, dead easy. Some generic 'clamping' bars will grip onto the roof rails, and the box fits tightly onto them.
Here is a pic of my 212 taken in September. Roof box clamps to a pair of roof bars which themselves clamp to the fixed roof rails.

I use Atera aero bars, they are excellent. Very easy to fit and remove also very quiet.

Good place to purchase new Thule or Atera bars is roofbox.co.uk. They often crop up used on eBay.

The Mercedes bars, atera aero bars and (I think) Thule bars all have a T track for securing the box.
T shaped pieces are slid into the track and then the box drops over them, a nut or hand wheel is then secured inside the box.
The alternative and more basic method of securing boxes to bars is with large U bolts.

T track:

Try one of these: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-Transmitter-Z...

Mrs Krikkit bought one for her XK, I assumed it'd sound like a big pile of st, honestly it's more than up to matching the quality of the stereo in there (which is actually very good). Even as a self-confessed audio snob, it's very good indeed for a standard car stereo.
I have one which is similar but as the cigarette socket is permanently live I need to turn off the transmitter every time I park the car and it is does not have an easy way to turn it off.
Does the one in Mrs Krikkit’s XK have an easy way to turn it off?

4.5 S Cayenne, MANUAL! 80% of thread max pre-haggle.
Be interesting to know how many manuals they sold.
Does an S make it twin turbo, or are they all turbo'd and S is higher power?
I have zero Porsche beard.

I'd imagine this is one to sprint away from?

Apropos Auto Trader; not been a massive user for years but I've found recently that if you use the filters 'correctly' you can end up with a really interesting mix of cars to look at.
My Porsche stubble is itching. The S is na; a Turbo would have a turbo whilst a Turbo S would have a larger turbo.

Happy New Year to all bargeists.

This is the unit I have. I believe these guys are the only UK based company who actually manufacture something like this, and I was keen to have good support/communication and warranty. There are UK vendors who will install cheap units from the likes of Ali Express but I didn't want to go down that route.

https://integratedautomotive.co.uk/product/mercede...

I think I paid about £650 fitted.
Thanks, looks like a good solution.
