Thought some people may like this: https://cardle.uk/

A daily car quiz similar to wordle. Each wrong guess gives a new photo with more detail.

Wtf? It’s case sensitive, no capital letter, no win.
This should now be fixed!

It wasn't intended to be case sensitive, was a bug.

Glad people are enjoying it thumbup It's tricky judging the difficulty when choosing the images but from the stats for the 28th April game(Lamborghini Espada) I can see 203 people got it right and 265 didn't get it.

I couldn't work it at all
If you let me know what's happening I'll try and fix it. Are you having trouble submitting a guess?

I just couldn't work out the car or model was the problem I was having. Not couldn't work out how to use the puzzle
Ah ok, no problem. Tough one today.

But they were hampered by the case sensitive thing. That would have messed a lot of people up, that got it right but ‘wrong’
Yeah true. Shouldn't be an issue now. I've also set it up to not count spaces. Had a couple of people get it wrong yesterday because they accidently entered a space after LFA, also with Jaguar XJ220 when they entered XJ 220 instead.

Nah, much more fundamental than that. Being in Australia I’m on different days to you guys so hard to refer, but this:

This was my fault. I changed the files it uses quite late UK time yesterday(busy weekend). So looks like you were given the original files for the 3rd May game and then the files changed so it didn't match when you came to the end.

I'll set it up atleast two days in advance to prevent a repeat thumbup

mw1987, once I've got the answer right, is there or can there be a way of seeing the 5 clue pictures as well as the picture of the whole car? As it is now I had it right in one today, and it's showing the whole car. I tried tapping on the 5 dots to see the different clue pictures but they didn't do anything hehe
Good idea. I'll add this soon thumbup

I do wonder if it’s a little unfair as pic 1 doesn’t look standard, maybe aftermarket or special model specific
Good spot. I try to avoid anything non standard but didn't realise this when I setup todays. When looking for images to use it can be quite difficult as they need to be a certain size, quality and available for me to freely use and edit which limits the options.

Weird, I had this earlier:

This message is just what appears if I haven't uploaded the days quiz in time or can't get one done for any reason. I must have uploaded it in time for the UK but as you're ahead you got this message for a few hours

I've been a bit sloppy lately as the arrival of my baby son has shot my routine to peices biggrin

Should be back to normal now.

Security certificate expired today and wasn't auto-renewed/installed correctly. Which also marks a year of Cardle!

Thanks all.

Hi all,

Creator of cardle here.

You may have noticed a new banner on cardle.uk today regarding a Three Peaks Fundraising Challenge.
Don't worry, it's not the start of an advertising push on cardle!

Some colleagues of mine at SNG Barratt are raising money for the British Heart Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support by taking
on the National Three Peaks Challenge. The Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours.

I decided to support their effort on Cardle.uk by linking to the justgiving.com page and hopefully they receive a few more donations as a result.

Believe it or not cardle.uk gets over 4,000 players every day, with a record of nearly 8,000 - so hopefully a little bit more exposure will mean more money raised for a great cause.

Thanks

Mathew
