Using a car from Guernsey

Hello all,

I might be purchasing a Guernsey registered car from a U.K. based dealer.

Car still has Guernsey plates on it.

The dealer will do all the stuff involving registering it with the dvla, fine , but from the date I buy it until it’s refrigerated my understanding that I, a U.K. full time resident, can’t drive it until U.K. plates are on the car.

Is that correct?

Car btw is a Ferrari 458.

FFs lol. One typo and it’s all gone wrong.

Yeah VAT paid.

I’m just hesitant buying a car which I can’t use for 4 weeks while the DVLA get it registered and in the meantime I’m insuring it and paying finance on it.
