Hello All

I need some insurance advice: Here is the context:
I am having some guests over during Easter and I will need a bigger car to ferry everybody around. My car is a VX Astra and insured with LV, my wife's Yaris Hybrid is insured with Directline. My wife is second driver on mine and I am on hers. My brother in law has agreed to lend me his 8 seater Nissan Serena (imported from Japan) for that purpose. It is taxed and MOTed. However there is no insurnce on the vehicle. I have tried all if not most of the short term cover insurers online and none are willing to provide cover for that vehicle (is it because it is imported??).
How do I go about getting insurance for the Nissan Serena. I have not spoken to my insurance yet and I want to hear from you first.

scratchchin Thinking about it, is it not a bit odd that it's taxed (rather than SORN) but not insured?
In most cases this sounds odd. My brother in law is a second hand car dealer. His insurance is different: it allows for test drive, etc.

Having spoken to LV insurance, they were unable to cover the Nissan Serena. My only option is to get a new quote on a comparison site putting my NCD years as zero. My NCD is currently in use in my VX Astra.

I was quoted £343.91 on comparison site for a year. The plan is to buy the insurance and cancel it within 14days and hopefully get most of my money back
