Mention a particular car, someone has to mention...
Discussion
The S8 thread made me think, someone mentions that model and you can guarantee someone will mention Ronin, a fairly mediocre 1998 Robert De Niro film that is otherwise pretty much forgotten except for the car chasing starring the aforementioned Audi.
Its like it has to be mentioned, it is the law, same with these, even though they are usually not 100 percent true and often are just regurgitated Clarkson quotes.
What other examples are there ?
Porsche 924 - "Its got a van engine you know"
Chrysler Crossfire - "Looks like a dog parking its breakfast"
Jaguar X Type - "You are aware you are driving a Mondeo ?"
Fiat 126 - "We picked one up and turned it round"
Audi TT - "You a hairdresser"
Any MPV - "Looks like you have given up on life"

Wash your filthy mouth out, it's one of the best 90s spy thrillers and has some of the best car chases in cinema history.Title was meant to say "Someone has to mention", damn my poor proof reading skills.

Any Capri - "used to carry a bag of sand in the boot"
Yeah, or many other building materials, concrete, paving slabs, etc. I had a few Capris, never did it myself, nor did anyone I know who had one, even when big numbers like 73 and 88 bhp were involved, they could though be a bit prone to wild oversteer, not sure 100 kilos of ballast would help much, other than a bit more weight over the rear to help traction, but when it did go, you had a 100 kilos hanging out behind the rear wheels which to my mind would make matters worse.Baldchap said:

I look back now and think this about my Dad's 1979 V8 5.0 Mustang(he owned it from 1980 to 1990). It only had 140bhp which doesn't seem very much at all now, however it did have 250ft/Ibs of torque though(that is only 20ft/Ibs less than my 370Z offers now). So it would've felt fairly punchy I would've thought back then to be fair.
The Mustang was also miles quicker at the traffic light GP against the 1982 Escort XR3 that my Dad also had as well. That was a fun day looking back now!
Never realised the 370 had so little torque. Turbos really have changed the game. My 3 cyl 1.6 has similar torque (presumably more 99% of the time). Current Fiesta ST has about 300 lb/ft at 3000 odd rpm so it’s fairly inevitable that the 350Z feels comparatively flat, still nice though, just different.
