Awesome, I can't say anything else. What an amazing 3 days: full of sunshine, passion for the cars and friendship.
Just got home in an empty house - wife is out. Kids are asleep and I just can't I guess there's not much left for me to do than start up the 'pics 'n stories' topic. Phil's having my saturday's load on his laptop so let's start with sunday I'm sure you all don't mind.
What a great bunch of guys and girls you are. I've enjoyed every minute of it. Great to see Chriss again and hi Graeme, I'm sure you're dying to see some of this weekend's stuff. Please throw in your pics and stories and make this a nice memento.
Wonderfull 8C 2600, shots of that glorious engine later. Wonderfull that owners do race these stunners on days like these.
Lovely 246 Dino.
E-type racer: there where lots of 'em.
Lotus Elite interior.
The Astons were loud!
Never saw a P6 with a 5 litre before!
Especially in trim like this: 435 brake! Unfortunately it had ignition problems and had to stop after a lap
We met Chriss and his brothers on our way up to Eau Rouge. The pre-war race was just to begin and we tried hard to snap some through a hole in the fence.
Bloody hard to pann with just 25 cm's of space! Chriss: you showed me some pics from your little cam. Please post 'em here, they looked gorgeous!
More tomorrow! Must sleep now, cheers, Dink.
Edit: results of the races.

Check the plates
Back to SpaF.
Hudson/Sadler in the Talbot 105 (#22, 3:37) chasing the Aston LeMans (#60, 3:56) at eau Rouge.
Heading for La Source to snap Phil in David Grace's Big Healey:
. . . he passed us here. More of that later!
Gracee's hide-out: big and smart Streamliner.
This seems to be the setup to have: Dennis Welch straight six looking lovely here.
Another Big H of Cooke/Foster. Best lap 3:20 so about 15 secs slower than our man Phil.
The Cooke/Brewer TR4 (4:07 so obviously there was something wrong) is for sale.
Loads of sunshine made our weekend. Everyone was surprised how cheap the entry and parking was. Also it wasn't as crowded as 2006. What did you think of the food
Imaculate Capri in front of the F1 paddocks.

John: best wait untill he mails me the lot. Than we can order a bunch and get a discount, is that an idea? Will everyone PM me your plates so the Frozen Speed guy can pick the right snaps?
Back to work What a difficult day BTW
What a gerat bunch of posts guys! Loving it, keep 'em coming.
Hall/Hall Cobra did 2:53 and won class. Super! The thundering V8's shook the earth!
GP Masters:
Maydon's Amon F101 (2:31) came in 3rd. Backlit adds to the drama.
Lamplough's March 711 (2:30) won class. Fav Ronnie's ex-car and stunning! Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it in the paddocks.
Brabham BT42 passing a slower car down La Source. We were allowed to snap here although we didn't have a correct bracelet. Thank you marshalls!
Fittipaldi 5A storming! Love those DFV sounds. Accelerating from Busstop and almost touching topspeed, wham-wham-wham switching back 3 or more gears and braking hard - lots of lock-ups at this spot - an aiming for a spot-on line. Motorsports at it's best here. Bert and I were really enjoying it to bits.
March 761 came in 1st (2:23).
This Surtees TS9 (3:12) obviously had some problems . . .
Fav Brabham BT30 (2:30) at full chat. Ex-John Watson, another of my teenage heroes.
Up next: 7 more GP cars at the hairpin and then 'The Phil and Gracee show'.
To be continued.

Cunning plan Will send you your previews shortly!
Jochen
Who knows, one of them could make the front cover of www.auto-journals.com...
Thanks, I have just sent you your previews.
Dinkel, please send me an email with car details if you want to receive yours.
Cut the crap and back to the cars:
Brabham BT21A: some carry Ford 1.6's and some 2 litres. Power is around 180 brake and they sound the nuts: I want one!
March 711: This car is chassis number 6, as raced by Ronnie Peterson during the 1971 season. This apparently, is one of just three cars left in original form, the rest having been converted by the March factory to 721X specs for and during the 1972 season. Quite a rarity then. This is the actual chassis that Ronnie used at the 1971 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Yes, the race that is classed as 'The Fastest GP of All Time', when won by Peter Gethin. This is the car that came second that hot September afternoon!
The car raced with DFV's and in '71 briefly with an Alfa V8.
Surtees TS9B (2:37): The Surtees TS9 was raced from 1971 through 1973. The cars were driven by John Surtees, Rolf Stommelen, Sam Posey, Gijs van Lennep, Mike Hailwood, Andrea de Adamich, Joe Domingo, Len Booysen, Luis Bueno, Tim Schenken, James Hunt, and Neil Doyle in F1 Competition. There were six TS9 cars constructed. The cars were equipped with DFV V8 engines that produced nearly 450 horsepower and matted to Hewland FG400 gearboxes. Zero-to-sixty took just 3.15 seconds.
Here's the winner again: the 1976 March 761. Dutchman Michael Bleekemolen raced in a car like this.
Number 47 running a bit wide here. The braking of these beasts is breathtaking. Coming from the new Busstop they threw back a few gears under heavy braking and choose their razorsharp lines. Most of the time not this wide!
Watts in the BT29 passing the Tecno F2, both running low 2:40s.
Brown's March 721 (2:43) slower than the F2's? Some were taking it easy like this oldtimer. Watson was one of my heroes, I dunno why for he wasn't a podium guy.
I ain't sleepy so I'll post up some of Phil's race.

Cheers for that Chriss. I thought a distinctive shirt would be convenient
I'd like a small cam for some easy snapping during beers and coffee talk. That thingy of yours Chriss, looks good.
Warm up lap:
What happened to the Knobbly? He retired after 13 laps.
The first two Knobblies were built for the legendary American sportsman, Briggs Cunningham. Seven examples were delivered to Jim Hall and Carrol Shelby who outfitted them with Chevrolet power-plants.
In 1959 the aerodynamics were changed and fitted with modified bodies designed by Frank Costin, an aeronautical engineer. The lines were smoothed out considerably, but the changes increased the frontal area and had an detrimental affect on the vehicles aerodynamics. As a result it had a lower top speed. In total, eleven examples were built with two being powered by Jaguar engines. Wellhausen's Lis has the Jag mill in (2:52).
Cheng's mate Mark Jordan (2:54) in a Ram Cob slipping and sliding through La Source. I've got a few good ones coming up.
Very nice D-type rep (3:10).
This red E gave Phil a hard time in the first laps of the race. With 3:03 as a fastest lap that's obvious. He came in last in class, so something must've happend along the way. Top car that.
Richard Abels E does a good 3:05. He wasn't close to his mate Phil though.
Now this! GN Sports with a six litre plane engine in. I can easily say every shot I took was sideways action. Be prepared for slapstick stuff!
Bedtime.

Cheers Gram, greet to meet. Hope they'll sort out the Cerb out for ya. Luverly looking machine. I'll send all pics I've made of the car to you. The battery switch-trick was inventive. So good to see we all really liked to help TC out. For all we know it could've been big fun to just leave him there . . . But then, he's such a sweet guy.
She's too kind a girl isn't she.
To Boss: in the naughty corner! Edit: just saw the dirty-remark is in the other topic
Back to the cars, where were we:
Knobb giving it some beans.
Red E to follow a few sec later.
Phil choosing another of his gorgeous lines. On the vid it's very good to see his strategy: thundering towards LS and carefully aiming, gently but super accurately getting through (catapult) and stamping to get right at speed again. His lesson to get through a curve 'a bit slow' is so much faster because you don't need to correct the car. Beautifull to watch, I sometimes forgot to snap!.
The shadow is the big H. Mogs generally took a 'close to the concrete' line, almost touching sometimes! Abels E did similar times as the Healey. Big fun to see close racing, and with such beautifull cars as well. Yeah, I really had a helluva time at the apex of LS again. Addictive . . .
Mog fighters, they're seriously quick!
The red one . . . defeated.
This DBS V8 sounded the absolute nuts, and went around in a best 3:19.
A bit older and faster: Foster & Stephenson's DB4 did 2:53! At tick over it sounded like a Flak-unit rattling with an occasional hit: purrrrrrr-tack!-prrrrrrrrrr- tack! . . . Love that.
Nuff brake 'n lock stuff at this point. LS has definately become a tad faster. Is it the new Busstop that gives more speed?
Mark Jordan wresteling his big 8.
I like small cars: Canning and Woods TT did a best 3:14. This is a spectacular little beastie and faster than period 1.6 and 2 litre Alfa's!
Take some time to visit http://www.teamwillpower.org/
It's all for a good cause. This 5 litre 450 brake P6 had some ignitionproblems and a sparkplug failure. To bad really because I'd really liked to see it going. Next time.
You guys really want to see more. Please tell if it gets boring because some cars may pass twice, or thrice or . . .
Lunchtime!
