You know for me the pleasure for is in seeing how the more innocuous 'finds' get as much feedback than the obvious supercars - like the Saab, and now the Austin! Wow....three!?!! You must like them!

Hmmmm I do see what you're saying - I'm settling down to a nice cold cider, as this spotting stuff is hard work - but for me, the fascination is that a lot of these are real one-offs. Ok, most people hate the chav wagons that murder people's ear drums on suburban streets but when you see something that costs probably 500k (car and wacky makeover) then it's alluring. For many there is no difference. But that's the story. I probably get at least as much satisfaction spotting an old S6 than I do a garish 599.

Right now, I'd love it if people could shed light on the old Jag on previous pages and I'm trying to get to the bottom of this SL69!

I'm glad people are appreciating the pictures.

ironictwist.....we're the lucky ones. It's like looking at an Old Master and 'getting it'. The appreciation of something like that...not everyone has. But that's where the real enjoyment of something comes in, not only if you own it, but if you can appreciate it.

yeah, hopefully some of us will get our hands on one soon

BRGBert - I think you are 100% correct. I'm not hugely up on TVR's [ducking down], and I would have just glanced back and just saw 'T.....'.

B(Route) - not sure which one you mean? None of the G-Wagen pics have a covered car in them do they? Or do you mean the vehicle that I speculate looks like a hotrod?

sleep envy - Afraid not! The only place I take a proper camera is the ski slopes.....

Streetrod - where do you think a load of these pics are from . Honestly though, yeah you can get bored from seeing one too many Ferraris or Lamorghinis. It's the extreme iterations that make your jaw drop. The matt black paintjobs and the garish Gemballa makeovers. Some are like Miro paintings. I wouldn't put them up in my hall, but they certainly make you look.

The Z1 always turns my head. For a major manufacturer to just come out with a little roadster with doors that pop down - BMW sometimes comes up with these oddballs. The Z3 Coupe....
And I'm a big fan of the 8. Shame, no piccies

Do you know which Jaguar is under the covers (way back in this thread). Judging by the size and it's dimensions when I saw it, thought it was a MK X....

I hear what you are saying, but the frontal area - the grille and everything - seems to really push forward.
And it was big. Much bigger than the XJ's - but I'm no expert.
