do you need the MOT certificate to get tax

my car has 11 months mot but i cant find the mot certificate do you still need it nowadays to get tax being as its all on computer?

it will be at the post office, apparently if i do it online i cant drive the car untill the disc arrives.

Last few years ive done my tax online and driven the car whilst waiting for the disc , Anpr will show the car as taxed and tested when you have got a disc online.

thats what i would have thought aswell can anyone confirm if you buy it online i can drive the car?

it ran out yestaday so i am already a day late.

i think it would be harsh to do anything to me not displaying if i got it online and also its only 1 day late.
