I don't know about you but I constantly think about cars, mainly what I'll buy next but also sometimes thinking about fantasy cars.

So show us what you've been dreaming of, post pics and maybe even a brief explanation and we'll see what we end up with biggrin Oh and feel free to come back tomorrow when you've changed your mind, it all adds to the fun.

For me its this:

I seem to be developing a love of cheap fun cars thumbup

CRX
I'd say get a good CRX if you know you like them, use it and enjoy it. Spend all that other money on holidays or paying off the mortgage. Best of both worlds right there smile You'll only be sitting in one of the others in a couple of years, thinking why didn't I just get a CRX.

Odd I know but I really want one of these for the daily commute, 50mpg all day long no matter how hard you drive it, a laugh a minute on twisty roads (which is a fair proportion of my commute), 800Kg, cheap to maintain and run, 0 depreciation, evo really rate it and I love the sound they make. I consider it the true modern day mini.

Would be the perfect partner to the Elise thumbup

Unfortunately, finances cannot even stretch to this at the moment, so need to wait a while longer.

Today I have being mostly intrigued by the practicality, performance and affordability of this. I believe its a machine that has really grown into its looks.

Since I sold the Elise a couple of weeks ago, its been one of these, as the money from the Elise has gone elsewhere it'll be a little while before I can pick one up. But the more I look into them the better they seem to get, they are dirt cheap, are gaining cult status, are easy to work on, parts are cheap, they are reliable, have a huge support network and most importantly they are a hoot to drive.

May need a cheap, practical, diesel load lugger shortly, this seems to be ticking most boxes for me at the moment. Granted its not particularly exciting, but it meets my needs nicely.

Its the depths of winter, theres snow everywhere and I'm properly broke. So why can't I get this lightweight, RWD roadster out of my head? Probably something to do with only having a 12 year old Eurobox (which I have a soft spot for) for commuting in.

Good God I want one bad.

One of these:

Swift Sport

Dont know if there any good though?
Very good from what I know, not a hot hatch but a terrific warm one. I've never actually driven the sport, but my girlfriend has the 1.3 version and its a laugh to drive so I'd imagine the sport would be a fantastic little car.

I agree they don't photograph particularly well, but in the flesh they are a very nice looking car, purposeful. I can see anything else like it for the money.

ETA: Apologies, didn't realise photo hadn't been quoted. Talking about the current Skoda Octavia VRS Combi smile

Given the road I drove today, the weather and my likely budget for the forseeable future, its hard to get this out of my mind. More open top fun.

I hope they're good as I've bought one of the 2.0L turbo models. I'll hopefully be picking it up on friday.
You can't go far wrong with these cars - enjoy smile
My Dad has one which I had to borrow for a week at one stage, easily the most comforable car I've ever been in (including E34, E39 5 series and an LS400), and with a nice bit of poke when you want it and a lovely relaxed character when you don't. Enjoy, it would be my choice if I was in that market.

Yes it's leggy, yes it's boring and dull, so why do I want one so much?

Rover 75 Tourer ad
Because its cheap, practical, should be good on fuel and if it proves reliable its a bargain, if not the most you lose is £995.

It costs £850. But could it cost more in the long run?
Not if you run it bangernomics style and just change reasonable cost consumables until something uneconomical to repair happens, then just get rid.

Mixed thoughts between investing in a Renault 5 Gordini Turbo and keeping the KA as a cheap runabout, instead of forking it all out on a DS3. Cant decide with the Gordini's reliability though. . .

Desicions, decisions.

Very very cool. Always had a soft spot for them. I remember as an 18 year old wondering whether to take the same plunge. I never did frown
Never die wondering, there will be plenty of time to buy a DS3 when they've done the whole depreciation thing. If you can comfortably afford to run the Ka and the R5 then do it, IMO it will feel far more special than any modern car.
