Is there a reason people seem to like the 306 D Turbo, but not the HDI?

The early Dturbo/tds are easily tunable if that is your want. Just dial in half a turn extra on the fuel and away you go in a cloud of smoke. The HDi was a common rail engine so is quieter, smoother and better MPG. Not so easily tuned.
I think it is the easily available "free" power of the Dturbo that makes them the one to go for. I certainly enjoyed mine and kind of yearn for another one.
Would you not run the risk of destroying anything? And how much more power do you actually get, considering the HDI is already 15bhp better off?I think it is the easily available "free" power of the Dturbo that makes them the one to go for. I have a 306 DTurbo and it's quite good fun, cost next to nothing, handles very well (I thought the golf comment was laughable), be interested to see a 'how to' to turn up the pump
Also got a 307 HDi, I much prefer the D-Turbo for power and usability, the HDi is just dull, everywhere.
The HDi would be dulled by the massive weight of the 307 though! I just need to find out a few important stats, such as standard engine power and MPG now as I have seen some conflicting stuff. Also got a 307 HDi, I much prefer the D-Turbo for power and usability, the HDi is just dull, everywhere.
