How to carry a mobility scooter in the car?

A friend's dad, while being otherwise fine, has great difficulty walking.

He drives fine, the problem is that once at his destination he can't really walk around. So he'd like to have an electric scooter with him.

I've Googled it and found some platform things in the states but I'd really like to try one out with him.

The reason I'm involved is my friend has asked me to make a little trailer into a tiltbed for this scooter. I don't think towing a trailer everywhere is a good idea really.

Thoughts?

Yeah, I know about the shopmobility places, problem is we're out in the sticks here and there's nothing like that around.

I'll check the lightweight scooters out but he still has to get it in the car somehow.
