The Most Fun Cars To Drive ?
Discussion
These days everything seems to be getting heavier and so fast that you can't use half the performance on the road without risking a ban.
What are the most fun cars to drive on the road ?
Standard cars, new or used, below £15k
The first ones that come to my mind are:
MX5
Puma
Mk2 Golf GTi
205 GTi
Elise (although really its limits are too high for road use really)
Original Mini
E30 M3
I'm struggling to think of many modern hot hatches that are fun, I had an Integra R and whilst I could see it would be a good track car it was infuriating to drive on the road as you simply couldn't access its power.
Many like the Megane 225 are very quick but I didn't find myself going the long way home.

Some interesting replies...
I have had several TVR's including a Griff 500 and whilst its a great car its not fun on the road as it requires huge restraint not to exceed the speed limit by 2 or 3x
Driven plenty of Land Rovers and whilst they are a good tool for a job they aren't fun to drive.
I should have included most kitcars but I was really thinking about standard production cars.
I had a Mk1 MR2 (a supercharged one) and didn't like it either.
Its noticeable how few have suggested modern cars, so it isn't just me who thinks they've lost their way.

What about it didn't you like? (to aid in further selection!)I had a Mk1 MR2 (a supercharged one) and didn't like it either.
Didn't seem very communicative.
And generally just wasn't fun to drive.
Its not easy to describe what makes a car fun - if it was I suppose there would be more fun cars about.

Have you driven a Mk3?
I recently drove a Mk2 and it was awful.
The Mk3 is supposed to be much better.
