The Diva: The Rolls From The Twilight Zone

Fans of taste and decency look away now - Fenice Milano plans a strange Rolls

It takes quite a lot to make a Mansory-tweaked car look like a paragon of subtle good taste but this, the Fenice Milano Diva, manages it.

It's been created by an Italian company called Fenice Milano, which has taken all the subtlety and measured good taste of a Rolls-Royce Ghost and, er, thrown it away.

Instead, Fenice Milano has splashed 24-karat gold pretty much everywhere. The grille, side sills, bonnet and mirrors have been covered with the stuff. Inside, there's more gold to keep the bespoke teak, leather and Alcantara trim company. Persons of taste and good breeding need not apply...

Inevitably, the underpinnings have also been fettled, with the predictable ECU tweak, and what the Fenice Milano press release describes rather unnervingly as the 'optimization of the exhaust and suction system'.

The only saving grace is that the car - so far - doesn't appear to be real, just the fevered imaginings of the fine people at Fenice Milano.

And if you're wondering just who these people are, so were we. And the company website doesn't really help: "Fenice Milano is a project born in 2008 from the intuition of a young entrepreneur, who decided to invest in the development of an activity in line with the tendencies of the actual market and entering the market of custom luxury cars, to offer his clients the chance to make their car a concrete realization of their personal spirit." Right..

Apparently if you buy a rear-facing car you get bigger tyre profiles...

I like the colours, just cant see the point in taking all RR's hard work on ride and comfort and shafting it with a set 35 profile licorice strips.
