... and he is an arrogant wcensoredr

Saw his grey 911 Turbo parked outside the dry cleaners near where I live and thought "Wow! Its Jason Plato" so I hung around to say hello and meet him. 20 minutes in freezing 2 degree cold and he comes out and I say hello and he shakes my hand. I say that I really like his car reviews and all that to which he just says "yeah yeah nice yeah, bye". Gets into his Porsche and drives off. Can't even spare 10 seconds for a fan.

Its true what they say, don't meet your heroes.

Well I am really sorry for running Plato down its just that I was really disappointed about him not really giving a damn about a fan. I did mention his BTCC career (very briefly obviously) but he didn't listen to a word I'd said and jumped into his car.

I have met a few 'celebs' including Tiff Needell who was a top guy who talked to me for over half an hour on a couple of occasions. Really nice down to earth bloke.

I do realise nobody wants to hang around in the cold talking to some nobody but a little more consideration wouldn't of been much. Sorry if my post seemed a bit harsh but I was just a bit miffed really. Perhaps he was in a major rush and he hadn't noticed I was stood outside in the cold for a while.

I don't know...

What would you do if one of your heros stopped in your quiet local village? I just wanted to say hello and say that I was a fan, not expecting a ride out in the 911 back to his house and play 'twister' as another PHer bizarrely put earlier. I just wish he was a tad more considerate.

How did you know it was his 911? You are a fan, aren't you.

A scary one.

Edited by Doofus on Thursday 25th November 18:08
It has 'PLATO' in big letters across the number plate...
Plus I remember in a previous episode of Fifth Gear him saying he had one.

OK enough with the stalker comments. If I had waited outside for hours on end then yes maybe but all I did was wait for 20 minutes for a one-time chance to say hello to someone I am a fan of and show my appreciation and congratulate him on his win.

Sorry if that comes across all a bit too much...

Did you grab Tiff outside Tescos? Just 'happen' to see his motor as well?
No I met him through a friend in London at the MPH show.

Now I do realise that perhaps I caught JP at the wrong place at the wrong time as a lot of you have said he is a nice guy. And the comments about a bobble hat and a Chevrolet jacket?
a) I never wear hats
b) I am not a huge fan of American cars

This thread has turned into a classic PH ccensoredk up.

That's a more epic fail than the plato harrassment.

This is far more serious

http://www.seriouswheels.com/
I would hardly call walking up to someone and saying hello harrassment.

What about taking pictures of their car then lurking around outside a shop for twenty minutes beforehand?
I was going to add the 911 to the bad parking thread, really good numberplates thread and possibly the spotted thread.

Okay sorry. I completely messed up as I was nervous. All I wanted to do was say hi but ended up making a complete idiot of myself. It will not happen again.

Again sorry for the crude remark in the original post, a bit unnecessary I know.

I know I am the culprit in this thread and the 'stalker' but I dont care. Saying hello to one of my heroes ended up in this totally awesome thread. I have really enjoyed this and glad I created it now smile.

When I was 17 I learned to drive and my first car was a BMW M3. It was dark metallic grey and was awsome.
I later sold it and bought a Maserati 4200 Cambiocorsa and that was fun too.
Then I went out of control.

Being employed at my fathers car firm in Surrey (www.romansinternational.com) as a researcher I was a favourite of the company and had a generous salary of £175k a year from my father. Also he buys me cars as well.
I bought a brand new McLaren Mercedes SLR and an Enzo from the company on discount. I also bought various Ferrari's and Lamborghini's and even a McLaren F1 from Germany until my financial advisors told me that the running costs, insurance and the amount of money on the purchase of my cars was ludicrous and told me to stop. I had to sell the cars.

This was August this year 2007 and I got a huge amount of money out of it. You can now find my McLaren F1 for sale back in Germany at www.autosalonsingen.de. Now I still have a supercar collection but not so big and not so expensive.

I have 11 cars in my 24 car garage at my home in Oxfordshire. They are:

1991 Ferrari F40 in rosso corsa red with cat

1995 Ferrari F512 M in Giallo Modena Yellow ( very rare )

1997 Ferrari 355 Spider Manual in rosso red

2001 Ferrari 550 Maranello manual in grigio titanio grey metallic

2003 Ferrari 360 Modena F1 in argento nurburgring silver

2006 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder E-Gear in dark metallic grey with black wheels

2008 Maserati Granturismo in rosso mondiale red with black wheels ( on its way! )

2007 Audi R8 in black

2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage in Titanium silver and burgundy leather

2004 Porsche 911 Turbo in dark metallic blue

2007 Mercedes Benz S500 L in black with Kahn RSX alloys.

I am very proud of my cars and will probably add more within the next few years.

I also have a black Land Rover Defender that I use for practical purposes and my girlfriend has the new Alfa Romeo Spider.

Any questions about my cars or anything just e-mail to stigf40@yahoo.co.uk.
So quite why he was waiting to meet Plato when he's so awesome himself I simply don't know.

V8mate, if you tell me for one second that as a 14 year old boy you didn't make up stories and write silly things or even say them to your friends ever, then you are quite frankly a liar.
Have you even read the blog?

Yes but you've never met George, so you don't know that he was also writing on the web as if he was a lot older than he was... a 14yr old...

To clear that up,

The Peugeot 106 is mine.
The Honda Civic Type R is my brothers and the Mercedes SL is my dads. I just added them to 'my garage' as I thought they would be an interesting contribution to the PH fleet. That is all.

One of the funniest threads I've read for ages!

I'm not keen on this Bernard Matthews witch hunt but why is he saying he's 17 on here and 27 on youtube, there's even threads on google slating his comments on other youtube posts http://www.automotivehelper.com/topic890463.htm and who's Maiden666audi if it's not you? http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?mem...

He sounds like one of lifes dreamers to me.

Edited by dockertrigger on Tuesday 30th November 17:38
OK you caught me clapcop
When I was 14 I was having this bloke on that I owned a load of supercars for fun. He believed me so led him on and took it too far by opening an account on PH under this 'maiden666audi'. Took it too far I know.

I was 14, immature and foolish. I have accepted I was wrong it was over 3 years ago, I have started a new account as a fresh honest true car enthusiast. Hopefully I can move on.

Satisfied?
