Old, unused, spare tyre.

Going to need two new tyres for the barge ('00 528i) soon. And I'll take the opportunity to match them to the pair I had fitted about 10k miles ago (Falkens).

The spare (Michelin) is unused since new, so now over 10 years old.

I'm thinking maybe I should dispose of the spare and replace it with one of the worn (3mm tread) Vredestein tyres that I'm replacing.

What do you think? Is a tyre that old potentially risky?
