Any ideas on the current scrap value of cars? Yes, I appreciate I should just phone a few local scrap yards.

Been given a figure of £350 salvage from the insurers on a write off. Seems very optimistic to me.

The car is driveable so no probs delivering it. I appreciate that if I stripped the car myself I could probably get the £350 but I don't see why I should do it nor do I see why I should be out of pocket/time for this.

Worth about £1500 retail.

Not sure on the catagory, I've only skimmed the report.

If its a write off they pay the total sum and take it away or are you trying to buy it back ?
If it is the same as mine recently the offer gave me £1700 for a car they valued at £2000 and the cat D car to keep or sell on.
Looks like they're doing this. I don't want to keep it. I'd rather have the cheque for the full amount. If the insurance think they can get £300+ salvage for it then good luck to them, I won't be able to.

It's a 1998 Corolla with a damaged rear bumper, panel and hatch.

I was thinking £150 from the scrappy at best.
