Spotted this on the A34 yesterday.

The front clearly showed an MG badge. In case it isn't clear, it's a 4 door saloon, a touch smaller than an E90 3 series. Didn't look offensive, fairly generic if anything.

Ahh there we go!

Didn't look as good as that so I'm assuming it was just a cooking model.

Just looks like a generic Insignia type thing. Yawn.

Currently they have no marketplace, this gives them freedom to make something genuinely different. They don't have to worry about playing safe causing a drop in sales (as they have no sales in the first place).

A start would be RWD, it's an "MG" so meant to be "sporty" (haha) so why not make it RWD to try and get some enthusiast buyers something cheap to go for.

Actually, I think it is the forthcoming saloon version of the impending MG6 hatchback, MG told me it was coming soon here.
Yes, this was definitely a saloon.

That must have taken a very wrong turn in Shanghai.

rwd apart from the f and tf when was the last time an mg was rwd it was in 1981 with the mg bgt and that basicly the same as the first ones out. They need to sell well in china so competing with kia, hyundai and other asian cars. If the made them different then there will be only a small market place for them however if they make them like well white goods ie kia ceed type car people will buy them. Give them time to first sell cars in china then hopefully mg will bring out more sportier models.

Well the RV8 was sort of a new car.

Ish.

And the SV was sort of an MG.

Do tell us about the[b]RWD[/b} MG SV, which IIRC was made between '03 and '05?

They can do what they like in China. However, if they want to sell here, it needs to be good (it won't be I bet).

Anyway, for someone with an MG moniker, I would have thought you'd remember the not long departed MG ZTV8 which was RWD. Plus, as mentioned above, there was the failed MG SVT.
