Why an MX5?

Can you tell me why about 90% of you here love the MX5 so much? I admit the Mk1 is a pretty car but that's the only thing I can see. Oh and it's RWD.
Closest I've come to driving one is just a passenger in a mates. It wasn't bad but I couldn't understand why you rave about them. I did consider buying one though but I had a Mini instead.
So then sell me an MX5 please I would like to know the reason behind your love.

I'd been a passenger in one and that's why I thought I don't get it and bought the Mini.
