Okay we have all seen the videos and the pictures. Porsche are not trying too hard to conceal its existence. So when do we think it is coming? I'm actually a bit excited at the prospect. Does it mean that there will not be a GT3RS gen 2 during the life of the 991 model range? Could be interesting as if that was the case residuals on the current RS will increase. VAG will be encouraging Porsche to sell as many new cars as possible to fund the fines that they have incurred so I believe a launch date could be quite soon. Would a GT2's power delivery be a dissappointment after the screamingf GT3's ?

We had a conversation recently with somone who is taking delivery of a 911R very soon who is also supposedly down for the 991 GT2RS something which confirms the new models type. Apparently the UK is to have a total of 60 cars only. Having owned a 991 GT3, 911 Cab and now a RS I guess that I have to accept that in comparison with the serial buyers of mutiple new Porsches that I have very little chance of securing a GT2RS. My life will not come to an end as I feel so very fortunate to own my truly amazing 991 GT3RS ! biggrin

might help to start buying some stock cars from a dealer now - would pick one that is not too big though.

As they did not build a normal GT2, I would be suprised if the RS is as limited as the last one (possibly even unlimited like the 3RS given that VW Group needs to make money ...).

For a similar price to the new RS, you could pick up the truly limited (probably in the future more valuable if that is important to you) original RS ... manual too:

GT3RS production ceased a little while ago hence OPc's are now allowed under their dealer agreement to advertise used examples. There are a few awaiting parts to complete their build hence not all have been delivered. smile

Not necessarily. I did not get an R (some mess on my OPC's side) which I really wanted and was offered a GT2RS "as compensation". But I am not a Turbo man and don't buy cars to flip them so I declined
Fully understand your thoughts on Turbo power delivery. Drove a 488 Fezza recently, it was soon faaaast though not in a way that I like. The new GT2RS will behave very differently . It will not echo a Turbo S with even more, it will be very different with its almighty power delivery! Quite what we have to do to be offered a allocation I don't know....

Looks like the GT3 Gen 2 is just around the corner. Loads of new info as of this morning. I reckon that it will be announced at the Paris Show. Wonder if the GT2 will be as well, that would really flummox the flippers. Could be an excellent marketing tool by Porsche!! All I hope is that who ever gets to buy either of these cars will be the ones that will use them as intended not parked up in storage. Where OPC's miss out is that whilst selling the flippers another car they do not get any part exchanges to sell. So it's a short term profit not a continued one.
