Hi, thinking of buying a used C4 991.2 with modest spec - has PDK, cruise, parking - but no seat heating. I know I'll really miss it but will cope. Does anyone think it's a major issue for selling/trading in later in life?

Really good points, thank-you. I would only be saving a (very) few thousand, but after a previous purchase went wrong I'm now needing a car fairly quick and am not dead set on what I want - they're all good! I could spec new, but think the waiting time is several months? I'm going to investigate a bit more today.

oh and yes ex-demo...pretty odd not to put heated seats on it!

Good advice, thanks. I don't want to wait several months, so will either go for this one or see what else is around but looks slim pickings...

Porsche are pretty tight with discounts, but bear in mind they get to claim VAT back on ex demos...

It is a misconception that ex demos are great spec too. They have a defined budget, which is why in this case you're missing what seems like an obvious thing. Quite often they'll go with options that are more attention grabbing for those clients who purchase on an impulse!

My old man is exactly that sort of character, and he ended up having to have the PSE and rear camera installed afterwards on the ex demo he bought. If he'd one the maths, the 'great deal' he got probably cost him more in the long run.

Thanks! I did do a search on PH, so if that has more ex-demos on it I guess it saves me ringing round. Think I might go for one with no heated seats - the rest of the car is lovely and as odd as it sounds, its not easy to find a gen2 for about 80k

I was in an OPC a couple of weeks ago, they showed me their list of unsold cars for the rest of the year. It was all Cayenne's apart from a couple of 911's. You might be just about able to order a car to spec for Dec build.

The only way you'll find a car is ringing round each OPC....even within dealer group's they are really bad at finding other cars in the system that might be available to your spec. I am currently looking for a Cayenne and have had to do the legwork myself to look for cars. They also don't put very new demo's on the official Porsche site (not allowed to apparently)....they do list them in the PH classifieds or Auto Trader though.

Porsche are very good at making it seem like there are less cars around than there really are!

There's ste loads of Cayenne's around.....

Loving the comments...especially the 'pissed yourself' one. I do like quietly putting the seats on and watching the quizzical then worried look of your unsuspecting passenger...
