So we know its coming; does anyone know any more than the clips on U Tube are currently offering? Is it to be called a GT3R? Just seems to have gone a bit quiet after all the initial speculation. So far I believe we are talking a manual box to be an option, 15 BHP more and wider rear wheels are a couple of things being bandied about. I'm just curious.

yes can't believe it you'll have to stick with the GT4 Rob!
Hi James really rather pleased with the GT4. My RS had done 6000 miles just felt selling was the right thing to do. Made the decision just before we went to Scotland. Had we kept it another 2300 miles would have gone on. Right decision, wrong decision I guess I won't know for sure for a little while. Just hoping I get the chance of a Gen 2 GT3. av185 said:

As much as i hate Porsche right now, i can't help but admire how they have us all dangling on strings.
But presumably you would hate them less if you were offered a 991.2. GT3 build slot? Or do you hate them enough to turn a build slot down and offer it to someone who actually likes them? Only asking.
If I am to believe the latest rumour which is . 2 x model GT3 variants which will be announced at the Geneva Motor Show. One with a manual box and no rear spoiler (for the supposed purists) The second with PDK plus spoiler for the track and go faster guys. If its true what another piece of truly brilliant Porsche Marketing!
Should I be fortunate enough to be offered the chance of one or the other I would be a little undecided as there is no denying the virtues of PDK though must admit to rather enjoying the involvment of my GT4's excellent manual.

Sorry but there is no way Porsche would offer a 'spoiler delete' option on a GT3. Do agree with all the other offerings that have been heard but no way that.
Sorry I think that you have misunderstood me; the car would not have a RS type spoiler. The spoiler would be the same as fitted to the 911Rtuffer said:

I have tried but my offer has been politely declined. Porsche are trying very hard not to have a repeat of the Bolton affair. I also believe that by doing so could affect their allocation of said car which as yet has not even been announced.
Is it possible with all the trumpet blowing with the arrival of the new 911 GTS that the GT3 Gen 2 release won't be at Geneva? The waiting for an announcement is driving me a bit mad and that is without being told whether I will be fortunate enough to be one of the chosen few. Thoughts please.

And I can confirm exactly the same for a handful of OPCs in north of England.
Customer allocation of GT3 Gen 2 will be based on their provenance which will be determined by their buying and selling history history to date. My understanding with my OPC is that information is collated, recommendations are made and then passed to MD level who will decide who is to be able to buy the car . Porsche and their dealers are very determined to stamp out cars being flipped out of the dealer network. Plus no dealer is allowed to take a deposited order for the car until they have a confirmed allocation. Believe me I have tried! Quite how an OPC copes with the situation where they have a serial car buyer who is buying multiple cars each year from within the company group and then does flip a GT model I have no idea. Will they tell him no chance when he tries to buy another?

I'd bet it's a 4.0, detuned with the full fat 4.0 coming in the RS.
For anyone interested here's the link for tomorrow's release, starts at 8.15am http://www.porsche.gomexlive.com
Thanks for that Jack. The waiting, wondering and speculation is starting to get to me. Plus of course there is the addition of the new spoiler clip which would suggest Porsche are going to launch a new mid engined model. They are ........ with a V8 to compete with Mac and Fez.........
Reckon you are right.I'll start with, 4.0ltr, reduced weight, option of manual 6 speed. 500 BHP.
What's the betting tomorrow night the Gen 2 GT3 will be on the Porsche Configurator and if not very soon. This of course will mean many mindless hours will be spent configuring a car that I don't know if I'm lucky enough to be able to buy. Plus of course many assorted alcoholic beverages will be consumed during this complicated procedure. My poor wife has so much to look forward to. Thanks Porsche I'm sure it will be worth it.
