Only 1 per dealer , if that
So unless you are the centres' VERY BEST customer forget it
I think it's less than 1 per dealer, my friend works for an OPC and he said they were lucky to get one carSo unless you are the centres' VERY BEST customer forget it

My OPC said they will be lucky if they get 2.
So that makes less than 80 for the UK?
I think dealers just quote their allocation for the present year, then in reality usually get a further allocation for the next year later on, unless it's actually a numbered limited edition which is different. So that makes less than 80 for the UK?
It isn't a numbered limited run but it is constrained by production capacity so I gather in reality it amounts to the same thing when it comes to getting an allocation. I have heard anything between 1,000 and 1,500 cars globally but difficult to confirm anything at present.
I have an allocation and I think it is going to be awesome. Not yet sure on timing. I suspect on average the dealers will have between 1 and a small number.

I think you will have more luck looking for a lhd car on the continent as c 300-320k euros specced is a lot of money and as pointed out above they will produce quite a few of them. Probably best to just keep pestering an OPC
Having said all that the OPC I spoke to in Bavaria is not even willing to sell me a gt3, let alone a Gt2rs ... probably look for an OPC in a less "well off" area of europe

I have been in touch with a couple of friends who got the call from their OPC DPs.
One was a LDN based opc who have been given 4 allocations. No chance of getting anymore.
The other OPC was smaller and is getting 3 in total but one of which was due 6 months after the other two due to the chap wanting to go PTS and a load of 'exclusive' bits.
Awesome. Would it be bad to have the weissach wheels and have them painted black? As it just looks more aggressive in my eyes to do that

I spoke to Germany today and they have categorically not decided on PTS for the 2RS and there is currently no list of exclusive options (Cxx code options).
So I'm not sure how one chap knows his car will be 6 months later due to these things. I hope he gets them, because I am after similar, but right now there is no information.

Germany must have had loads of calls and emails in the last week or two!So I'm not sure how one chap knows his car will be 6 months later due to these things. I hope he gets them, because I am after similar, but right now there is no information.
Apparently it's about 2 months before they decide on first CXX. More generallly appear along the way, so that most choice is at the end. Some of the standard options (e.g. alcantara sunvisors) were actually late CXX options on the R.
No Weissach pack production til February, which means early UK cars won't have that option.
Personally, I don't like the WP look, and not sure I want to have to think about the cost of fixing/replacing Mg wheels on a car that will be used a lot. (Same wheels are £10k each on a 918...). On top of that, seems wrong that the track pack Ti roll cage, is the version that is not FIA approved for safety. I get that it's lighter, but will that really make any difference in a 1500kg car (with 700bhp!)
I'm pretty tempted to go without the Weissach, it's just the eventual resale demon that's saying to spec it. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't even be thinking about paying £20k for a look I don't like; wheels that are a pain in the neck in the real world; and an apparently unapproved roll cage!
Totally personal choice on that though, and I'd guess WP will be the choice of most.

Surely you go WP and put a set of the standard GT2 RS wheels on it for the length of your ownership ? A set of four wheels for a GT3 RS is just under £5k from an OPC...so maybe a set of GT2 RS wheels will set you back £6k. If you ever sell the car you can sell it with both sets of wheels or I am sure you'd readily find a home for the spare set and probably get at least £2.5k for them. In terms of the cost of owning a car like that and as you say the need for the WP for long term value that's money very well spent

I know where you are coming from Mark. I am going WP for mine. I like the wheels and cage and the other bits and all seems value for 20k. Could always swap the wheels out if driving a lot around town/near kerbs etc. Over time the FIA approval will lapse on cage anyway?
I know...I'm not planing to race it (the N24 could be tempting, but you'd have to stop to fill the intercooler reservoir every 3 laps!), just seems ironic that the approved cage is on the base spec. We'll see - maybe I'll capitulate, but right now I like the idea of a sold carbon bonnet, painted interior and standard wheels. Maybe it will be worth more in 10years as one of the 'rare, non-Weissach cars'. :-)
