Hello

Just bought a 996.2 Carrera 2 fitted with the optional X74 suspension (40mm drop plus different shocks and anti-roll bar). Anyway it's really fecking hard. The test drive was on smooth roads but now having driven it on some bumpier roads I think it is a bit too much. Has anyone else driven a 996 with x74 suspension? Are they all that hard or are my shocks fecked?

thanks

Not sure I want to stretch to Ohlins just yet. I had a chat with Bilstien and they can rebuild the shocks to make them softer but I'm guessing I'll need new springs as well. Joy!

When I had the pre purchase inspection the OPC didn't even know what x74 was!! I've found out that they are basically Bilstein Sport shocks with lowering springs.

The bushes are a bit worn so will get that sorted but still undecided on my next action.

Suspension becomes less compliant with wear/age.

Might just need a refresh?
I'm probably going to do that but the question is whether I get them to revalve them to be softer or go for standard (x74 standard)
