Super impressed with the performance of the RS29 pads I've got on my 996 C4S, However the noise is making the car an absolute nightmare to drive on the road.

I take the car into work and on little non-ten tenths excursions from time to time and I find myself reluctant to press the brake because of the squeal. To be honest its really embarrassing.

I did expect some noise but I can't imagine how anyone would be able to put up with it for road use. No amount of hard stops will clear it. It's driving me mad.

I'm considering swapping back to standard pads. Before the pads go on ebay does anyone have any tips to reduce the noise?

Ta!

Thanks for the suggestions!

I did bed them in when new according to Pagid instructions. Then proceeded to do a full day at Spa and then Ring so wasn't exactly babying them!

Went to amsterdam right after the trackday (Can recommend!) and the noise around town was unbearable. Anything below about 30mph thats not standing on the pedal creates the most horrendous squeal every single stop. Been like that since despite some good road workouts.

Had new rears fitted when they went on. Front discs were not changed, or cleaned as far as I know. Maybe thats worth looking at. I will try to see if the rears are making the same racket.

I'll check with my Indi about the grease question, How would this create the squeal?
