997.1 - AUX Input, any ideas?
Discussion
I have the Aux and iPod connectors under the armrest but on the PCM there is no 'Aux' or 'Source' button that I can see.
Can someone tell me how I switch to AUX input?
I have connected a lead to my aux device which is on and playing, thinking it might auto detect but it didnt.....
Any ideas? It can't be that difficult surely. No mention of it in the manual either.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply, yeah its the original Porsche head unit.
So are you saying the aux in only works if you change the head unit to an aftermarket one?
Mine has the CD front loader for single CD and also multi changer in the boot, pressing CD on the PCM cycles between these two sources but nowhere can I select the Aux as an input......how bizarre.

Right - solved it!
I think you may be right that it is an aftermarket part - I didnt think of that.
I remember seeing AUX somewhere at sometime on one of the many screens so after much searching I found it:
It comes up in the station list.
So I saved it to preset 0:
Connected my £10 bluetooth adapter which is actually surprisingly good:
This also allows hands free when connected to phone (auto answer enabled of course).
Well thats the theory........in practice the audio quality is worse than shocking. Massive amounts of hiss and static. Gutted.
