After months of deliberating over it, I finally took the plunge yesterday and bought a 991.1 C2S from Porsche Leeds. It's about 18months old with 5k miles, so is pretty much new. I've never bought a car this valuable before, so i'm keen to keep it looking fresh for as long as possible, and was wondering about paint protection & sealant options.

On my other cars up to now i've used an assortment of washing & detailing products at home. Nothing too specialist, but good quality polishes & waxes. I've heard a lot about ceramic coatings and was wondering if anyone here had opinions on which ones (if any) were worth the investment.

Car is Jet Black with RS Spyder wheels if that helps?

Thanks!

Thanks all.
There's a lot to consider. I have PPF on my Caterham, but it's essential if you visit gravel traps every now and again! The 911 will just be for road driving, but the state of my Mercedes after 4 years proves that there must be a benefit to subtle PPF. I was amazed to see at the OPC how much the film had come on over the past 8 years or so. The 997 GT3 RS' on display had quite thick film, whereas the newer 991s had much thinner and less visible film.

I'm intrigued by the Gtechniq products - may investigate detailers locally in the Bristol area.
