There used to be a whole heap of people and knowledge around these parts, the 911uk forum doesn't seem too populated. Is there any other forums that should be a must visit?

Rennlist I used to be a member of, but I don't recall my log in and I did feel it was very USA-centric.

We don't see the same old faces on track these days (or fewer anyway), has the investor market decimated the enthusiast one?

Well, if anyone else fancies dragging something on a limited mileage policy out of it's carcoon we have a spare place at Spa on the 8th of November (brave I know!).

We bought it on OpenTrack's boxing day sale so it is considerably under the £225 price of the day-cheap enough to bin off if the weather turns out to be pants.

Buck stops with the PH mods, they sit by far too much while often one individual is the root cause of 95% arguements for several years in forums.
Without trying to derail the thread down to that level, it must be noted that moderation on PH is down to every single member to report.

The moderators do take action but it needs members to hit the report button for them to do so. Noticeable "trolls" such as Yipper have been banned.

The prolific posters however whom I'm sure we can all name (each sub-forum has it's own) seem to be able to skirt around the ban hammer for whatever reason. A shame.

Dont underestimate a 991.2 GTS, in my opinion its the sweet spot of the 991.2 Line up as an all-round package.
hand on heart I genuinely think the 991.2 GTS (all flavours) is the best vfm 991. Dare I say it - I prefer it to the GT3! Best all round modern 911 I've ever driven.
Haven't driven a 991.2 GTS but we took my buddy's 991.1GTS to Spa and the 'Ring and it was fantastic, the n/a engine was a pleasure.

Still not sure about the PDK gearbox, just a little bit too good for me-as daft as that sounds.

Re the polishing vs driving comment...

Just found out a good mate has won a Porsche national trophy for his cleaning skills-presented by Herr Bell no less!

He’s as big an enthusiast as I am-maybe even bigger.

We both get our kicks in different ways but I’m glad that side of the hobby exists-his and another mate’s car are amazing (they do these Porsche show and shine events together), it wouldn’t be for me but I’m glad people like they exist as it’s all part of the same world.

(They think how I treat cars as crazy as I think theirs!)

Back on topic, what are people’s thoughts on sharing set up data?

I understand the desire for companies to want to try and monetise their experience but twice we’ve needed to reset or check the alignment on the 997.1RS and twice the companies refused to give out the settings to which they’ve adjusted the car to.

Unfortunately it’s not always practical to go to whoever did the job for a check-up and you’re left with then needing to start again.

Does anyone have a database of such settings?

Hi Craig, we are all still bombing about Scotland (and further afield) on our runs same as always (well since 2010), you're more than welcome to come back any time, would be great to see you! Some of the guys started a Scottish site called Tartan Tarmac, but it's basically the old Pistonheads crew.

Hardly any of us post on Pistonheads very often now though for the unpleasant reasons detailed above, just lurk to see if any old names pop up like yersel ;-)

Johnny! I still have a photo somewhere of our (993) arses together, are you still running that old thing?! What a car that was. I will take a look over the website-best sign up before I need my passport to wink

Is OlberJ still on the scene? I lost track of what he was up to after the last MR2 V6 build he bought.
