Finally made it into a 991.2 GT3. Car is perfect and I'm am happier than the proverbial, nearly...

The front numberplate plinth is starting to bug me and having just procured a private reg starting GT03 smile, my pref. is to run without on the front and use 4dots or a similar supplier for a nice (actual) plate at the rear.

I'm aware the plinth topic has been covered elsewhere to some extent yet have some specific questions around filling / removing the 4 blasted holes that have been drilled to affix the plinth and plate by the dealer. Any help with the below much appreciated

1. Any recommends in terms of who might do this in the North West (1 quote out with Lloyds who I fear may be £££)
2. Thoughts on leaving them and hiding them under a smaller stick on plate
3. Track days/ toeing eyes : is one tow eye generally acceptable or if the rear is without toe might track day recovery just strap round the wing?! the 4dots GT3 rear plate would cover the toe hole it seems.
4. Any recommends for suppliers other than 4dots for the actual rear plate ?

Thanks in advance,

Martin

Thanks, Neil @ Highgate has given me some excellent advice

I may choose to have the holes filled properly

Just means repainting and re filming which is a pain

But some things just got to be right!

Thanks all

I was going to leave front plate off and just sticker up for Ring outings / Eurpoean jaunts where I believe they are quite stringent.

However, wearing one as per the examples shown (thanks for these) works well

Just need to measure up and see if all those blasted holes will be covered up by the stick on variety

Rick @ Highgate super helpful

I'm seeing lots of s'cars without front plates and wonder if keeping a sticker / plate in the boot as well as being polite to plod is the way?

I have read that the fine for an illegal plate is £1k but more like £30. for not having a plate

Guess all comes down to what mood old bill is in

Congratulations on getting the car & joining the GT03... gang. As Robgt3 said, we have been very happy with the stick-on plate supplied by Rick for our GT3 and he is supplying an identical one now for our GT3RS.

Thanks for the warm welcome
That's quite a 2 car garage!
I have booked a training day @ Blyton with Mike Cooper next month to start learning the car properly
Then some track days to look fwd to in summer - most notably Spa with Book - a - Track in July

I got booked last year for not having a front plate on my GT3..It was £60 FPN and the copper mentioned that if i was caught again its a £1K fine for a repeat offence. I have plinths on my everyday cars but now have a stick-on for my GT3 and 981 Spyder..My newly delivered Ferrari also has no front plate and waiting for a Carbonia front plate drill free clamp as there's no room for a stick-on..
Driving around without a front plate nowadays is just daft IMO and just leads to unwanted fuzz attention and extra stress..!
Good points, thanks for sharing
