Am i right in thinking if i was to import from Germany a 2016 car there are no taxes or anything beyond uk car tax and mot to pay?

What if the said car had only 1000kms on the clock. Thank you.

Thanks. i,m a little worried by point 3.

VAT has already been paid in any EU country including the UK
the vehicle has been in use for more than 6 months
the vehicle has done more that 6,000km (about 3,728 miles)

lsb, i was thinking the same. mileage might be stated on the bill of sale.

A car i have seen only has 1000kms on it so not sure i could drive it for 5000km before bringing it into the uk. Hmm.

So how do you prove what the mileage is as i come off the train ? I could say the car has 6000kms on it .

On cars i have imported previously, nobby has ever looked at the car its all been sent paperwork. At the point of arrival, no one knows its going to be imported as it's not declared at arrival.
