Any owners of these Modded cars on here?

Have read all about Singer in the US but never seen a Singer here in the UK.

Also rarely see any Modded 911's around. Maybe i'm not going to the right places.

So any owners and any owner reviews of dealers, owning experiences ?

Always loved the idea of a backdate although sadly never got round to it

I am sure there is another UK firm doing them as well
I spotted these guys too, look to put together great looking cars.

I especially like the idea you can spec a car with decent horsepower.

Quality of their cars looks good too, no panel gaps etc

Also figured it's be interesting to hear from any owners of these vehicles

There were some interesting comments on here when Theon first appeared. I seem to remember much is outsourced.
I should imagine maybe engine builds are outsourced whereas all the panel work and coach works are sorted internally.

I would imagine Singer do the same.

Those looks with modern day running gear and good performance....lovely

My brother works for Theon and used to work for 911rennsport. Driven a couple of the rennsport cars and FiL owns a backdated 964 with the g50 gearbox. Haven't driven a Theon car. The rennsport showroom is worth a visit if you're nearby.
Yes well worth a drive out one weekend.

Their premises looks pretty amazing.

Tuthill's dont seem to have much in the way of inventory.

Might be better for me to see some of these cars in the flash

Any owners on here of a modded 911?

Bicester Scramble is a great place to see these cars. First one I went to has a Singer, Tuthill, Oshe and Paul Stephens.

I would say they are in that order in terms of build quality. Singer way out in front....Tuthill are great. Not a fan of the styling of the Oshe car and then there’s Paul Stephens.
I have seen a few in the flesh at some events.

PS my least favorite and of course Singer to die for!

Keen to see other makers work such as Theon and Rennsport as again the quality looks better

I've seen Rennsport's orange 'RSR' clone up close as well as talking to their people and my untrained eye put them on a level above PS.
Yup Agreed

perhaps my jaded view, but I think it is wise to take each car on its merits. I can name (but wont of course) specific examples from quite a lot of the well known names that have been of poorer quality than you'd hope. And in the past having not taken enough care in buying on a couple of occasions, it has bitten!

Yes I’ve been there too in a round about way hence my thinking Theon or rennsport may be the closest to a singer the UK has to offer

I saw underneath one of the early PS models at Autostrasse a while ago now; interesting build quality.
Can you elaborate a tad?

Search for it on here via google but the quality vs the price wanted was not on par with each other
Couldn't find the Autostrasse Thread ( i'm sure they act closed down a few years back now) unless this is the one you are referring to?

May go take a look at the PS cars as well on my travels...

I saw today that this restomod was put on Collecting Cars and went unsold - 1984 3.2 carrera backdated to longhood. No idea what price they were looking for:
https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1984-porsche-9...

I think it looks lovely. Done by 911RetroWorks up north. I actually saw this car in the flesh in Primrose Hill about a year ago.

It is worrying that they did a bare metal respray 2 years ago to mod the car, and there is already a small paint bubble on the front bonnet?! Personally that would put me off on the quality of the work.
Looks very cool and pretty that but i see no engine upgrades.

At a guess as its taken away its originality and is essentially a regular 3.2 underneath i'd suggest they are looking for circa 60k??? Although i suspect the bids would be around the 40k mark.

I may well be way off here though....

yeah, good point. am sure someone in the porsche part of Pistonheads will know what the bids were!
I did some digging.
The reserve was set at 75K and it sold post auction although at what price i wasn't told.

Close to the reserve price seems a little steep to me but who knows what exactly it went for.......

I was at Snetterton with a guy running a Singer.

A really cool car that looked fantastic, went well, and was admired by everybody who knew what it was.

Regarding the price ... and wait ... each to their own.

I have a non matching numbers "RS lightweighted" 2.4s with sports seats and pre-inertia reel seat bels ... for road work it is fab !
Sounds lovely , can we see a pic Chris ?
