The bumper is going to be sorted at the peeling paint on rear spoiler, i rang Chris as was working in the area but has a 3 week wait, as for tyres i was hoping to get four matching ones but nowhere seems to list the same tyre in the right sizes for front and rear

it has some old continentals on the front in 205/50/17 which are showing crack in the side walls due to age and a mismatched set of 255/40/17 on the rear i forget the brand, handling wise its alot better now ive blown the tyres up as the day i picked it up they were between 15 and 20 PSI in each!!! so my plan is to change all 4

Do the service yiurself, the saving will buy the tyres.
Speaking of tyres, decide what you want and find the best price online. If you don’t trust them to go near your Porsche, take the wheels off and put them in the other car then ask for tyres to Be fitted to your loose wheels.
My friend has a garage and will fit the tyres to the wheels if i buy them online, i was just after suggestions as to which to go for! as for the service i want to take it to a specialist so i can get the car checked over and see if there are any suprises waiting for me!

Wheel and tires same as for 993 and I am currently running Michelin on 17s and previously had Continentals before. I have come to accept that I am not going to find the latest tech tires in those sizes so enjoy driving to what I have fitted instead.

Here is the Porsche recommended list for 996

I happened by chance drop into GCR yesterday to have a catch up with Chris and he says crazy busy with servicing these days and usually 4 to 5 week wait time to get a car.

have booked in with chris at GCR for 20th march for major service and brake fluid change, as service history is a bit patchy! he is also going to get me a quote for tyres, so is local place, then cars booked in for front bumper and rear spoiler to be painted the week after when im in portugal! so all in should have a tidy looking, serviced 996 on new tyres for just under £11k
