Lately, I keep seeing references to there only being 47 tourings that were C16 uk cars. This is written in the forum topics and used sometimes when people/dealers are selling these cars.
So is this myth or do we have concrete evidence of this number? who first said there are 47?

So at the weekend I started to count and build a very basic sheet to collect as many different cars as possible.

I am currently up to number 35...
Number 1 on the list was easy, that's my one, from new.
2 and 3 are Chris Harris's cars!!
From then on I just used car adverts, for sale and sold, I think about 28 have been re-sold on my list.
Some cars are from Instagram and 1 or 2 from members posts and pics on here.

I now want to try to get up to 47!

So, can you guys help?
If you have owned, nearly owned, know an owner or have any other info please could you send me a mail?
I am not sure I should post what info I have at the moment (its in rough shape) and I don't want to infringe anybody's personal info.

I might build a small website of pics and basic spec for the found cars, I am sure in time all will come to the public domain anyway.

By the way, this is what happens when you lay in the sunny garden all day with nothing to do!

I hope you guys can help!

Not sure about the 48 No above, but someone that would know told me a while back the 47 had chosen to go with the Touring Spec option. No 50, not 35 or 90, but 47. Personally I don't see how you can use the amount of cars in pictures, adds etc as a reference point as due to high " Market Price" of the Touring Option cars many have changed hands several times. I know the R no of 74 is correct as I have a book on back ground to the car with all the Production Nos for each region.

Hi Apolo1

I am guessing you know your stuff and some in the know people. Do you believe him/her?

As for the photos, yes its a bit difficult, But I identify each picture, scan for the different colours/options,stitching,belts,trim,wheels,brakes,dials and so on and eliminate the duplicates...
Once the spreadsheet is started it has been easy to cross reference these cars.
Obviously someone can do a wheel colour change or even seat belt colour change and different decals, but options and the cars don't change so easily.
Some adverts even have number plates and chassis numbers. makes it easy then!

Anyway, any more help you can be, please do

Thanks

I agree

I’ve always had GT3 cars, but never liked the rear wing really
The touring is how I always wanted it.
As others have said, not a popular option.
Which is, for me. Perfect!

Beautiful cool

I like the blue one above too.

Do you know if there was any C16 PTS?
As far as I know nobody in the UK got PTS on any GT3.2
some are wrapped,
some are not C16 cars

For reference, I have found so far

Carmine X 3
Agate X 5
Graphite X 3
GT Silver X 9
Jet Black or Flat Black X 9
Sapphire X 3
Yellow X 1
White X 4

I am almost sure I have seen a Crayon one but never took any details a year or so ago.

Anyone else know of any genuine colours?

There’s a Gulf Orange GT3 which I think is PTS and UK supplied and Maxted Page had a Maritime Blue Gt3 which was advertised as UK PTS. I like many people was told no PTS but it seems some people got them. In the US 10% of GT cars are PTS now. The owner of the Gulf Orange car did his PEC Experience the same day as I did mine. Which I guess in itself indicates it was a UK car.

That’s interesting
I will check them out. Thanks
I have a PTS gen 1 RS, which was difficult to get.
I was told no PTS on gen 2, as that’s what I ordered....
However, those orange cars have wings, so not a major concern.!!

My OPC told me that Porsche GB/OPC’s were given the choice of getting some PTS build slots or getting an increase number of cars so they decided the latter. No idea how true it is but presumably there was a reason why this was basically the only country where you couldn’t get PTS.

This is an old link to the Maxted Page advert I just found.

https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/porsche/911-g...
That’s some top work there
Thanks for that info

Everyday is a school day and we’ve learnt PTS gen 2 cars exist..

I bet no PTS tourings though..

But more importantly, are you saying there is a Crayon touring parked next to yours???

If so, that is the first Crayon I’ve found....

Sorry, Just seen the above post.

Excellent

I think that's 42 cars now......
Me thinks there could be more than 47, or I have done an exceedingly good job in 5 days or half hearted investigating!!

Opc south london had a gt silver car last summer. Gold wheels. Std seats. Carbon mirrors.
They also sold a new crayon one. Black wheels. Remember it a couple of years back and being in love.
Thanks for that info, I haven’t found a silver car with gold wheels yet. I will look for It now though!

I’ve got 53 cars now
But some of those are duplicates
I need to work out what the real number is tomorrow
But I guess I will be about 43...

Still slowly, when time allows searching for tourings...

I have many duplicates that need to be sorted, but overall I have 54 cars. the colours are as follows:

Carmine X 4
Agate X 10 (1 of these now green)
Graphite X 4
GT Silver X 14
Jet Black or Flat Black X 11
Sapphire X 3
Yellow X 1
White X 4
Guards X 1
Crayon X 2

Will probably be a while now as I seem to have exhausted most routes of searching, so will continue to monitor sales, media etc.

So my conclusion so far is there are more than 47 cars, although I cannot prove that yet.
In many ways as an owner, I hope there are only 47 and the duplicates will sort themselves out, but I doubt it.

If anyone can help more please try..

Don’t forget one black car has been written off!
if your referring to C Harris's old car that wasn't written off.
He didn't take it back after the accident, but somebody bought it, repaired it, taxed it and now its back on the road being driven!

If not CH's car, do you know another?
