992 Carrera 4 GTS Targa
Discussion
Just put the deposit down this morning for one. Exciting times, as would be my first 'new' Porsche (albeit wife has previously had a new Boxster 'S' & myself a 12 month old 997 4 GTS).
Probably quite a way off yet, but with things being as they are at the moment then its something to look forward to.
Was torn between a used 991.2 4 GTS or the new 992 4 GTS, but decided on the latter in the end as financially there is not a massive difference, and well having one build to our own (I say 'our' as will likely be mainly the wife's car as I plan on keeping the E-Tron) just swayed me.

Targa 4 Gts is a fantastic daily fun car, I had 2 of the last 991.2s did just over 35k miles in them. Looking forward to the same in 992 around Q3 otr.
Didn't want a full on convertible, but liked the idea of a bit of open air motoring at times.Quarter 3 you reckon ? That would be good. In time for August would be awesome as if we are allowed to travel again I may take it down to the Dordogne for a road trip with my son, whilst the female members of the family fly down.
That's for the feedback both of you, albeit conducting so doesnt massively help
I'm just not a 'cabriolet' person, but like the idea of a bit of open top motoring, hence the targa.
Being able to open and close the roof on the move is not a concern. Wind noise is slightly. I assume dropping the windows gets rid of it completely ?
I thinks it's going to be a case of just knowing I'd like one and therefore likely living with the certain issues which it has. If that makes sense ...

What timeline have they given you for allocation and delivery, taking into consideration the car hasn't even been formally announced yet by Porsche?
Thanks.
They havent as say they unable to due to it not existing as yet. They hinted likely second half of the year which ties in with what Apollo said of 3rd quarter.Thanks.

My understanding is the GTS is to be released at the end of March and the first cars being delivered in June / July .. from my OPC today
Fingers crossed. If it is true I'll be able to sit it in with the roof down, in the driveway because we'll likely still be in god damn lockdown.

Just not with those alloys ... As mentioned, I suspect black is the way it will end up going. Its then just a decision as to whether to go full on black, ie black hoop and alloys, or whether to go silver hoop and alloys to break it up a bit.
Head says latter, heart says former.

Where do you think the prices of these will be? Local OPC will take my deposit for one now and confirmed same timeframe of March announcement and July delivery, but i’m trying to work out what these will be in terms of premium over Carrera S.
I’ll likely go for the GTS if I keep being told no for a Cayman GT4, not as good a track weapon but probably better all rounder i suppose.
I'd hazard a guess around 120k list, so around 25k more than a coupe 's'I’ll likely go for the GTS if I keep being told no for a Cayman GT4, not as good a track weapon but probably better all rounder i suppose.
Slighted annoying, and off topic, whilst waiting for the 992 Targa I was looking at purchasing a 4GTS Coupe as a 'fill in'. I put an offer in on one around 6.30pm yesterday at JZM (by email) and then chased them at 2pm today to be told they had sold it to someone else. Not even a call about it last night, after a number of emails between us up to 5.05pm prior to me putting forward the offer.

To be fair they had gone home by then and, I am guessing, your offer was not the asking price and they had a better one in the wings. And dealers are often wary of email dealings - too many tyre kickers.
Still annoying when a good one gets away though. Good luck with the hunt.
Appreciated they had gone home, but managed to sell to a.n other despite that fact.Still annoying when a good one gets away though. Good luck with the hunt.
Re price, my offee was around 2k under asking and was done by email as had sent them some other info.
Just annoys me I didnt even get a call pr email until I chased them up and the reply came it had been sold to a 'longstanding client'. I dont profess to be a previous client of theirs, never mind a long standing one, but I do know that at the start of any longstanding relationship there would have been an initial purchase/sale.
Anyway.... lifes too short and there are other cars out there.
My dealer is just saying that until its officially announced they cannot advise anything as don't know anything themselves.
I do however half get the feeling it will be very late this year for initial deliveries or early 2021, hence my post few back about looking to purchase something in the interim.

Hopefully their will be some news on this soon, as pictures been doing the rounds for some time now and April seems to be the date people are banding around for official release.
In the meantime, bought myself a 991.2 Carerra 4 GTS (coupe), in Crayon. Lovely car (low mileage, original owner + me), alcantara, centre locks, etc, ie the things every GTS should have IMO.
