Deposit down on 992 Gts, wise move ?
Discussion
Well finally committed and put down the deposit on a New gts!! Hoping it’s base price is around £105k so I can add a few options but can’t help thinking that the new Hybrid 911 is round the corner and this may be a unwise purchase depreciation wise ?
What does everyone think, a gamble or safe bet ?

Why are your Centre taking a deposit for a car that is not release as yet with No idea of costs nor release dateWhat does everyone think, a gamble or safe bet ?

Well done. The 991.2 version is brilliant so hopefully moves the game on. I don't think Hybrids will arrive anytime soon for the 911. Even if it does, I won't be in the market for one (unless it has zero BIK and I can buy it as a company car )What does everyone think, a gamble or safe bet ?

Not sure, but having been thinking about doing the same thing myself, I reckon the new GTS will be 110k-plus base myself - insofar as the difference matters at that price!
Hybrid 911 incoming might actually help - last of the non hybrids and thus notable for that?
Yep , that’s what I am hoping for but not confident ...Hybrid 911 incoming might actually help - last of the non hybrids and thus notable for that?
The last few Gts’s have all been around 10k more than an S , so I was thinking 12-13k more his time but you may well be right £110 would be stretching me a little as pretty sure I’m going to want 4-5k of options , fingers crossed !!

Depends how unique they make it this time. Centre exhaust, decent whack of extra power and centre lock wheels as a minimum. As you can now add so many options to a 992 S to make all the other elements the GTS usually has already.
They normally throw in Pse, sports body kit , Pasm and sports plus seats as well .Hoping in a few weeks it will become a little clearer

Cheers , I was sorely tempted with a 991.1or 2 but just could not find the right spec in manual so decided to go crazy , I will of course be £25k poorer but u only live once !!!maxtennis said:

Want to see the alloys before final decision but likely to be black bar with main colour red (not sure which), crayon or black.

am keen on 992 GTS but my dealer doesn't take deposit until car officially launched
Some will, some won’t. My understanding is that they can’t (or maybe shouldn’t) take a deposit for a car not yet launched. Those who do, allocate against an available model and transfer over when possible.
Could be wrong but not sure anyone actually has a deposit against a 992 GTS - more likely they have a deposit against say a C2S with an understanding it will be at the head of the queue when official orders are possible following launch.
That’s my experience at least - guess others may be different.

My OPC is taking deposits against the 992 GTS, however not against the differering variants. They have around 20 deposits, or did at the time of me placing mine, but how many are going for standard coupe, cabriolet & targa is unknown, as people can choose once the car in known. Obviously most will be for the coupe, but that will be then split between 2WD & 4WD.My understanding is that they can’t (or maybe shouldn’t) take a deposit for a car not yet launched. I had a courtesy call this week from the OPC. Still not possible to formally order a 992 GTS and still pretty vague on the launch date. Likely “the summer” with deliveries “perhaps around the turn of the year”. My understanding is that they can’t (or maybe shouldn’t) take a deposit for a car not yet launched.
