996turbo spoiler repair save£££

Just like to share a mod I did on my rear spoiler for 996 turbo owners who like tinkering as when operating I was getting the dreaded spoiler control failure on the dash.
As these cars are now getting old wear and tear will be creeping in and in my case the upper micro switch (which is normally closed circuit ) was still made (open circuit) when the spoiler was raised hence causing fault.
Instead of replacing items on the system which no doubt would of run up a huge bill I modified the micro switch holder to move the upper switch about 2mm lower so as when the spoiler was raised the switch would not be made (it’s only made when spoiler is down)
This mod didn’t have any change to the lower micro switch which was operating fine ( made closed circuit when spoiler down as it’s a normally open switch)
The holder containing the two switches was cut in two and a small gap removed as to then be allowed to move each individual switch if necessary a few mm’s either way to gain correct operation
There were two raised location nipples on holder which were removed and holes were screws go were elongated
