992 allocations to the dealers
Discussion
Can anyone explains how does the allocation works for 911. Does Porsche issues certain numbers of each model to each dealer every month/couple of months/quarter. And do the dealers always go by the waiting list or bump the people they know? Just looking to get some insight into this. Thanks

My dealer told me that they have not received any allocation for 992 C2 in last few months. They are expecting allocations in January for March built.
not sure they are telling you the truth there, the allocations for march build were sorted in November, January will be for May build and June delivery.(My apologies for not getting back to you, we have received some of q1 allocation however as of yet we have not received any Carrera 2 slots, with this in mind the earliest that we will now receive your build slot will be March and if this is the case the vehicle will be delivered in April)
I suppose time will tell.

that sounds wrong to me, they get the allocations months in advance, never a month before, unless its a cancelled order you take and you get someone else's allocation. The build has to be locked in about 6 weeks before too.
Sadly I dont think they are telling you the truth at the moment.
It may well be a lie, the dealer has showed me the C2 waiting list in September and I was the first on the list. According to them they have not received any C" allocations since then. I spoke to him this week and he said you will definitely hear from us in early January. Sadly I dont think they are telling you the truth at the moment.
Again I dont know, will update you guys..
A friend of mine who put the deposit in April last year for C2 just been allocated a car for March built and April delivery. I also paid the deposit for a C2 in May, and my dealer who has been very helpful came back to me this week and told me that he has inquired about the expected delivery time for my car and have been told by the head office that all cars are currently delivered strictly in order of the deposit date, regardless of where you ordered. They are expecting one C2 to be delivered per month in the UK for next few months and I am currently No 3. in the UK waiting list so the expected build date for my car would be either April or May with delivery in June or July. Hope this helps
Thats excellent news. I am in the same boat, early July build date. Hopefully will get the car by the end of July. However if the delivery is delayed by a couple of weeks and the car is delivered in mid August - would you want to wait another couple of weeks and get a 72 plate car or rather not waste 2 precious summer weeks when one could be driving!

I still doubt they will be bothered as they have plenty of people in the queue. Perhaps I just don't want a car enough to be made to feel a dealership is doing me a favour as I hand over £100k for a car.
I won't be putting it on a track, I don't have a commute, I'm not gonna rag round on public roads in it, really for how I drive and for the speeds of normal roads it's very much a want that starts to feel silly.
I'm also wary that with this mentality I'm far from their ideal customer as I prob won't keep buying them, I'd have scratched the itch and either driven it till me or it died or ended up getting something completely different (I'm not a true pistonhead)
Had the dealership been open, had they not made me feel like a lucky number in a list then things would be different. It's not really all their fault. World's on its arse and we have shutdowns all over the show.
The thing that's kept me on the 911 route is I have always wanted to buy one and I felt that while having to drive at road speeds it would still make me feel special, while I think in a M4 I am going to get that feel of being in a nice BMW rather than something special.
But at least I am out the game
I put my deposit down in May 2021 for base C2 and have a build slot for 7th July. I was told in November 2021 that I am No. 1 on their list to get the next C2 but thay did not get any C2s at all for a few months and only had GTS delivered. I became as frustrated as you do and asked my dealer 3 months ago that unless I know where I am in the waiting list I will pull out. He came back and told me in February that I am Number 3 on the waiting list in the UK and expect a build slot in July. Sure enough couple of weeks later I had the build slot. Apparently they are going to give build slots strictly by the date you gave your deposit and it is ire=relevant which dealer you went with. I would suggest you hang fire as you wouldnt be too far off getting a slot. Just my 2 pence. I won't be putting it on a track, I don't have a commute, I'm not gonna rag round on public roads in it, really for how I drive and for the speeds of normal roads it's very much a want that starts to feel silly.

Only believe the screen on there internal system. It’s about three weeks from rolling off the line to the keys in your hand. Can be a little longer if your unlucky with the shipping or anything small on the PDI.
Do you mean 3 weeks from rolling off the Production Line? As mine is due to leave the factory first week of July.Schuey_911 said:

My dealer asked me to load up the app with the same email details as the dealer had a few weeks before allocation. Then when the allocation came it showed up within a day or two with the order for the new car in the app. Still at stage 3 at present despite being told only a couple of weeks ago that production would be in June…. Hope this helps
Brian.
My build date is 7th of July but app is still at level 2. Wonder when would that change !Brian.

Only 12 days is acceptable
Yes totally acceptable but obviously no guarantees that it wouldn’t be put back further Good luck with the last stretch.

Dealer just informed me today that my car’s completion date has been put back from 8th of July to 24th of August. Can’t deny it’s the first time I have actually felt seriously pi$$ed off with it!
Anyone else had similar completion dates that have been pushed back also?
My dealer informed me the same. Build date moved from 7th July to 25th August. Anyone else had similar completion dates that have been pushed back also?

Reading Rennlist porsche forum and lots of GTS customers who were expecting the cars in August/September have been told that their model year has been changed fro MY22 to MY23 at no extra cost but the build date has moved to December-January. I wonder if this is just for GTS customers or everyone is effected. I would rather get my car sooner (current build date in 25/08) then a MY23 in December.
