Looking to buy my first Porsche and it has ceramic brakes and 21,000 miles otc.
Friends are advising against due to the cost of replacing these things .
Anyone had any experience with them and their expected life ?

Car is a Carrera 4 GTS 2018.

Everything ticks our box as to being a cabriolet, colour, interior colour and the long list of extras, just the ceramics now giving slight concern.

Thoughts please smile

Thank you for those responses, much appreciated.
I will get them to agree to checking when they do the 111 point check.
Dreamed of a 911 for 50 years and it’s now become possible, but still nervous as hell about actually committing smile

Thanks for those comments, having slept on it I feel a lot more comfortable today.
Car also has single centre nut which must be a pain when there’s a puncture, but hey.

Car has Porsche warranty to 2025 !

Hopefully seeing a 8 months 992 tomorrow then it’s time to make the decision.

2018 carrera 4 GTS 991.2 fully specced

Or a 2021 992 with 3000 miles and just a few cheap extras for an extra 15k

Never thought it could be so difficult to commit to buying a dream car

Insurance quote is 472 on the carrera 4 GTS

Advantage of being old .

Almost 100% decided that’s where my money will go rather than the 992.
Can’t stand another sleepless night smile

Thank you guys , the deed is done.

Wear on discs came back at around 10%

Pads are 20% so I am happy she hasn’t been a track car , not that people would buy a white cabriolet for tracking smile

I strongly suggest you keep it. Good ones are scarce and I almost guarantee you will regret it.

I run one alongside my GT3 as a track day and daily, lovely thing.
Thanks, I am torn and sure there will be tears from both of us when she goes.

We downsized last month and only have garaging for 1 and the motorbike, so would be paying for storage .
Still tempting though.

2 more sleeps smile and I can can finally have a Porsche key ring biggrin

Decided to keep the S2000, after the comments above and having seen how good she looks preparing her for sale , she’s too good to let go.

Well she made her way home with me today , totally overwhelmed, could have cried with joy ( and nearly did)when they pulled the cover off of her .

The effortless way she just pulls from anywhere in the Rev range, chrono button will get a try out tomorrow ??

Definitely keeping the S2000 , got to be better than 1.5% interest in the bank

Thank you to everyone for the feedback and comments.
