Having acquired my 997.2 GT3 August last year I am interested to see other people’s cars so wondered about using this thread as an unofficial 997.2 GT3(non RS) register. If you are happy please can you post up a picture of your car and rough spec. I read on a dealers website that there were 130 examples registered in 2009-2011 of the 2256 registered world wide. I also read that there were only 40 Clubsport spec cars? Obviously keep your location private. As for Riviera Blue examples, some say there are 3, some say 4 and even a rumour of 5 :-)

My car is a Carrera White non Clubsport with factory fitted folding buckets, dynamic engine mounts, front axle lift, navigation and steel brakes.

Of course st happens and two weeks after picking up the car I fell off my push bike and broke my tibia and was in a brace for 12 weeks, so not had a great deal of time behind the wheel. it is a superb car to drive, very analogue and engaging, just what I was looking for. I have found the gear change a challenge but I feel I am getting to grips with it. Also found heel and toe a lot different to my Caterham but starting to understand the amount of foot movement required.

The steering is lovely, hard to describe as it has a great feel but is also a bit light when pushing on. The clutch is heavy but I really like the weight of everything but it does take time for the gearbox to warm up and the gear changes feel cumbersome at slower speeds but fantastic once warm and at a decent pace.

I really love the interior, the car feels so well built and the materials are first class and although the car feels old compared to modern cars it somehow just seems perfect. I sat in a 991.2 GT3 in Porsche Bournemouth but the interior seems a little fussy in comparison. Infotainment is dated, not sure whether to go with a carplay upgrade or leave as it?

So far I am happy with my purchase, can’t wait to drive it more in the summer months, would love to take it to the Alps when I am a bit more adept at driving it well.

Now that is the sort of background I want to photo mine in front of. Mine has red belts but no extended leather. Hope I can do a Castle Combe track day in the spring, don’t want to go ballistic but need to open her up a bit. Probably stick to the Caterham for most track days as tyre and brake wear is small. Mine came with Cup2s so suited to the track.

Been out in mine before the salt went down. January was quite good, wished I’d not SORNed it now. Will tax in March now.

A local specialist near to me Bahnsport took all my under trays off before Xmas and sprayed some Waxoil type stuff on the vulnerable areas.

A fantastic selection of Gen 2 997's there. I am on the hunt for a Gen 1 or Gen 2 at present, so hope to join the gang soon! Interested to hear of any good examples for sale or coming up for sale in the near future.
What spec do you want? The red .2 one at JZM for £103k is nice if you don’t want Clubsport and front lift and like red. Been up for sale for a long time so the owner may be open to offers?

Red one has now sold at JZM.

Taxing mine for March, can’t wait to get out in it again, so weather will probably be rubbish from the 1st March. rolleyes
