My car is four years old in June and I plan on booking the car in to have cruise fitted as well. Have been quoted £1729 all in to do the work. What discount should I be asking for and which dealer would you recommend.

I am close to Reading but would be happy using Guildford, West London or Silverstone.

The work was to include service, brake fluid, spark plugs, airbag check and the cost of fitting cruise. Cruise was quoted at £564 and the service, brake fluid, airbag check, spark plugs etc at £1165.

I do not have A/c and the car has only covered 7900 miles.

Do all dealers allow a 10% discount if you are a PCGB member. I can't see anything about this in the Membership Benefits area on the PCGB site?

Thought this might be of interest to anyone looking to Service their Porsche over the summer.

I have just booked the car in for the major service, oil, spark plugs etc and retro fitting cruise with Porsche West Byfleet. They have agreed a price with me of £1500.

As I said in my original post, Porsche of Reading quoted £1729 and would not budge from this price. They did however ring back after I had booked the car in with West Byfleet to offer a price match with a written quote from another OPC.

Will post after I have the service done at West Byfleet next month.

Thank you to everyone for the help with my questions.

But that is £60 for two tyres. Opc wouldn't care less.

BTW, half of my cars that I have owned over the years had cruise control. I can't say that I used it often and would miss it if my next car did have it fitted. Fair enough if the OP was a sales rep using a 3 series but I doubt it if it is for a Spyder.

I use cruise all the time, especially on the motorway. For me it helps me keep my speed regulated and stops me going down the motorway at 80+ mph. Though on the Spyder I would only use it on the motorway or fast dual carriageways.
