I'm ordering a new Cayman and planning to get 20 inch Carrera Classic wheels without PASM. I have read it can be a harsh ride and of course depends on road conditions, but wondered if anyone had any thoughts/experience to share?

The 981 chassis is much more compliant than the 987. I have a 987 with 19's and pasm and the 981 I test drove was on 20's without pasm and was the smoother ride of the two.
That makes sense Trev...I remember when my 987 was being serviced a good while ago, they lent me a 981 with 20s but I can't remember if it had PASM. I didn't even notice or think about the ride, so it must have been fine (I was just thinking, I want one!)

Hi ... new to the forum and new to Porsche, so nice to able to contribute.

I took delivery of an 18 mth old 981 S with the Carrera 20" classic wheels. The car doesn't have PASM. It's very compliant on the road ... no bangs ... even over the odd small pot hole (very small that is ... I try to be careful).

My Dad has a 3 yr old 987 with 19" wheels and no PASM ... don't think mine is any harsher.

I'd say they were both smooth as silk.

My MX-5 roadster was very noisy and bouncy in comparison.

Paul.
Great feedback, thanks Paul. Placed the order and can't wait! Hope you're enjoying yours.
