Yeah we are at 40k with the dealer but I would have liked the original suspension and was kind of hoping it was tucked away in the back of a garage. Love the colour and spec but I'm a bit busy to be doing loads of work on a newly bought car ie changing wheels and trying to get hold of OEM suspension! The search continues I guess they have rejected a decent offer but I didnt realise they had it on for 44k. Bit optimistic as they were all 35k 6 months back!

I would only let mine go £2k below OPC prices, why sell for less ?
Well given other none opc dealers cant find a buyer at 5k less id say good luck Im more than willing to comprimise theres was even the blue one with zero options that would have been a good buy but didn't quite do it for me. Maybe as the gt4 orders start coming through the chances of jumping on a px car will increase. Im wary of spending too much as they are possibly at the peak of appreciation which is probably a dumb time to buy but hey ho. There was a nice green one with 15k on the clock I'm sure that one just dropped off auto trader will watch for that going back on. Do still fancy the red one but they just need to sort that price out.

The red one would cost £8k to get back to R spec !! so even at a deal it would take money to make it a true R and make it resellable with ease.
its a very fussy market.
What would cost 8k the suspension? The wheels would be no problem but I dread to think how much a set of spyder wheels would be?! its a very fussy market.

The green one looked nice but that was the third time it had been listed, twice on PH. Even with the fabled Manual, buckets, Black Spyders and only 15k it still didn't sell at circa £38k...........
I'm watching for that one I guess its the colour which is so awful I think its actually cool If anyone knows the owner of that one ask him to get in touch!
If the manual gearbox was in such demand the manufacturers wouldnt have dropped it from half of the cars. Even the new GT3RS is PDK only isnt it?
If its your only performance car for a weekend drive I would say manual makes sense but if you drive it every day auto is the way to go. For me I'm fortunate to have an Elise for trackdays and that kind of use so a manual R or S would be of no interest to me really or at least it would be a compromise.
Theres a testosterone/evo magazine/Forum fueled bias towards manual gearboxes but ultimately its not backed up by sale figures. Obviously the "wrong" people are buying performance cars eh?

I dont think thats how the free market economy works. If they originally ordered both options and everyone buys a PDK (for more money) how are they twisting anyones hand up their back? Having a manual is the right thing to say on PH but for me having my leg and arm wiggling about unnecessarily in a daily seems a bit pointless. If you want a true pure drivers care you'd be coming to see me to buy a Lotus not driving a 1400 kilo German barge
Oh almost forgot I've got one sorted thanks to a nice gent that got in touch through PH. Controversial but its not an R but a rather special S PDK. Got a week to wait to pick up ill update when she lands
Will still be keeping an eye open for an R so if anyone is looking at selling one do still drop me a line.

you sound suspiciously like a car dealer FP?
to the two guys who mentioned selling, what colours are your cars? Could be interested depending on spec and colour.
I'm a Lotus specialist. This search was purely personal although its unearthed a couple of cars I would take in. to the two guys who mentioned selling, what colours are your cars? Could be interested depending on spec and colour.
I can point you the way of a white manual with 27k on the clock, right options £41k
Other one was sold before I could get to it. I bet the chap with the green one on autotrader will relist that on the day I pick mine up! I dont have any Porsche cars myself to sell. There was no way I would be paying 45k for one but my market radar super sense was pinging that 45k was just too much. low 40s for a top one with very low miles sure. I've paid more for my one than any specialist dealer would have done but not many private punters have 30-40k to do a deal on a car either.
Cant wait to pick up anyway
Interesting that PDK is frowned upon this was my top priority when I was looking. If you want the ultimate driving thrill you wont be driving a Porsche anyway you'll be in a Lotus!
MJ911 if you are having a shop round go try an Evora. Its a vastly superior thing to drive. Residuals are pretty good now as well. The only things to bear in mind on used ones are clutches are a joke. £3000 engine out job and shelf life of 40k so bear that in mind. I've not had one in to sell yet I see them as a tad risky as I self warranty my cars and do not need a 3k bill landing on my desk. We are plently busy enough with the Elise/Exige/VX220 stuff which is all much cheaper to buy in too.
Why am I not buying an Evora? Busman's holiday I guess. The Porsche is better put together...erm thats about all I can think of. I just wanted one I guess thats reason enough! Prefer the look of the Cayman even though the Evora is a pretty handsome thing. I think the Cayman might be slightly smaller overall as well and I dont like big cars.
