First foray into Boxster Ownership
Discussion
Morning,
We are just in the process of starting to look for a boxster. It will be a third car and mainly used by my wife. We have never had one but have read up and I think we are going into the process with our eyes open.
Current thoughts are a 2005/6 car with a good history file known issues sorted.
I just wondered if anyone here was selling as I'd always rather have some link to the previous owner!
Cheers

Have a look on Boxanet if you haven't already, there's usually something worth a look at sensible money on there. I got mine from another member on there last year, and it's been a great car for me. I'd look for a 2005 if you don't want to pay mad money every year to tax it, but the story goes that the 2006 model has the better IMS bearing. However, nobody ( not even Porsche ) can tell you exactly when this was upgraded, so you may end up with the worst of all worlds in a 2006 car!
Thanks very much, I have registered and am lurking Well we've had it a week and TBH I've not driven it much as it's my wifes car however in the short drives I've had in it I have been really impressed. It's like proper driving again. We recently got an ftype which is wonderful thing but the boxster is just direct in every way. Great steering, feels utterly planted, and we love the engine note.
The clutch bite is high so I think we'll need a clutch soon, I'll an opinion from the indy (barr tech) on the ims and if we should do anything, apart form that and a little bubbling on the nsr wheel arch it is spot on so far.
We bought privately, 2 owner, 56,000 miles full service history. The lady we bought it off had clearly done her research before she bought the car a few years ago.
My wife is loving it, I wish I'd bought her one 15 years ago!
Cheers
